Fabric Paper

Hello, my crafty friends.  Welcome back to the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog.  After surviving your busy week, your weekend is finally here!  You deserve a little ME time to unwind!  It’s time for some creative therapy, so sit back, relax, and enjoy.  I hope today you will find tons of inspiration that will help you in your weekend crafting!

Reworking Backgrounds By Nathalie DeSousa

Do you have one of those layouts that in the end you just were not in love with?  Ever wonder if it’s too late to change it up?  Absolutely not!  Today I have a special treat by Nathalie DeSousa as she teaches how to rework a background.  Even though you may have to remove most items off the page, you can always reuse the items and be a bit more creative with the products.  Below is the first layout that Nathalie created.  After not loving it, she decided to re-create her layout.

Reworking Backgrounds

From the first layout to this.  What a huge difference, right?

Reworking Backgrounds

Sometimes reworking a background can be a lot of work, however, it also can bring a lot of creativity.  This might serve as inspiration to create your own patterned paper, or to create a beautiful mixed media background.  It all begins with your imagination!  Click here and I will take you over to watch a video by Nathalie on how she recreated this beautiful layout.  I love how she used some items from the old background to create embellishments for the new one.  You will enjoy watching her video and I am sure you will find a lot of inspiration on her blog Living An Inspired Life.  Enjoy!

A Cup Of Love By Jenny Marples

I just love how Jenny created both depth and dimension on this beautiful card.  The different layers really add to the dramatic feel of her card.  There are literally hundreds of combinations you can create.  Jenny used a mini blending tool and several different archival inks to do some detailed coloring on the flower petals and leaves.  The addition of the sentiment is a delightful touch.  You truly can cover nearly every occasion all year round with this delightful card!

A Cup Of Love

One of the things I love most about this card is not only how beautiful it is, but also how enjoyable it is to create.  If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Jenny’s blog “Pushing The Right Buttons” this is a must-have experience.  You will leave totally inspired to start your next project!  Click here so I can escort you on over to the Ranger Inks blog where you will find a step-by-step tutorial on how Jenny has created this masterpiece.  You will also find all the products she used.  Have fun creating, my friends!

Fabric Paper By Cec Wintonyk

There are a lot of different ways to make fabric paper depending on what you want to use it for.  Fabric paper is a great way to create interesting and unique surface texture that can be used in mixed media projects or as a base fabric for adding hand or machine sewing and other embellishments.  This darling purse was created by starting with a piece of cotton canvas which was painted with acrylic paint.  Using a brayer, Cec added Lemon Zest and Squeezed Orange Acrylic Paint (Dylusions) and purposely left some white space showing.  Take your favorite stamp and Jet Black Archival Ink and stamp onto the fabric.  Your imagination will really kick in on this one!

You will see how Cec finished creating her fabric paper by clicking here.  Now that the fabric paper is finished, the fun begins!  You’re going to love creating your own version of this adorable spring-inspired purse.  This will become a little treasure.  Don’t you just love when you can use your stamps and supplies in other crafty ways?  There was a lot of love put into this adorable coin purse.  You can never have too many purses – big or small, we love them all!  Have fun creating your unique one-of-a-kind work of art.
