Double Layer Shaker Card

Happy spring, everyone!  Another fabulous weekend is here and I hope you are enjoying some warm spring weather.  I thank each and every one of you for sharing part of your day with me.  I have some wonderful and inspirational projects to share with you today that come from very talented designers.  I hope you take the time to enjoy and create some of the fun projects I have to share with you.

Using Paper Strips To Design Pages By Amy Kingsford

Paper strips from your favorite collections can really showcase a layout, not to mention using up all the scraps from the papers that you love.  They create a great place to start when it comes to creating your foundational layers.  You can be creative and thrifty all at once!  Using rows of strips can provide a backdrop for your photo and will add a lot of vibrant colors to your photo.  In addition to serving as a foundation, the strips also contribute to the tone and theme of the page, helping to tell the story.  Paper strips are a great use for all those paper scraps you just can’t throw away.

When scrapbooking you can also create a shelf to ground the photographs on your page.  Stacking layers on layers will also give added depth to your page.  I love the four different ways of using strips to create a page foundation that Amy Shares with us: 1) rows, 2) columns 3) brackets and 4) shelves.  Let’s take a look at the detailed information about each one of the steps that Amy shares.  Click here and I will take you over to Get It Scrapped.  Once you see how many looks can be achieved with strips, you will understand why working with strips never grows old.  Jump in and use up some of those strips you are about to throw away. Have fun creating!

Double Layer Shaker Card By Olga Direktorenko

Shaker cards have been quite a popular trend for some time now.  Today I want to take it a step further and show you this beautiful double-layered shaker card.  Olga added some different elements to create her own personal shaker card, along with adding one window positioned right over the other one.  This card really pulls out all the charm of a shaker card.  Wouldn’t you just love to be the one to receive this adorable card?

It is amazing that wood from an old fence could create such charming wall decor.  This farmhouse clock has a handcrafted character that will be a great addition to any room in your home.  Come with me over to Cutting Edge Stencils where you will see a step-by-step tutorial on how Erika created her clock.  There is nothing more fun than to turn a piece of wood into something functional and amazing.  I hope this has inspired you as much as it did me.  I can hardly wait to jump in and make one of these.  This would make a great gift for someone.  Keep in mind Father’s Day will be here before you know it; this would be a great gift for that special man.
