Gratitude

Hello my crafty friends, and welcome back to the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo blog!  We are starting to feel fall in the air, and those summer nights are turning into golden autumn evenings.  I’m excited because I have some really fun projects to share with you today and I believe you are going to very motivated by them.  You will be inspired to scrapbook, create a beautiful fall card, make mini canvases, and last, but not least, whip up a wonderful dessert you can make in just a few minutes.  Are you ready for some serious autumn inspiration?  Let’s get started!

Wild And Free By Denise van Deventer

I often hear from scrapbookers that they tend to struggle with masculine-themed layouts, so I hope you enjoy this great design by Denise.  With fall temperatures creeping into the air, Denise shows a great way to capture that fall feeling using rustic and warm colors in her fabulous layout.  Her photo of this handsome little guy doing what boys love to do is on a page that makes your heart feel warm and fuzzy.  Denise really showcased her layout perfectly!

Wild And Free

Let’s hear it for the boys!  If you are struggling to create that perfect masculine layout, hopefully you will be as inspired as I am with this wonderful masculine layout.  Denise made her page grungy with lots of rusty cogs and bits and also used Paperarty Infusions to add to this grungy feel.  You will be so inspired by Denise and her talent so be sure to take some time and visit her blog Strabs Patch.  I hope you’ve been inspired to break out your distress inks, embossing powders, and chipboard and give Denise’s techniques a try; you’ll be creating some gorgeous backgrounds in no time.

Gratitude By Laurie Schmidlin

Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year.  Brilliant leaves, fall flowers, crisp blue skies, and here in Utah a brisk coolness in the air.  Such a beautiful time of the year to be outside and enjoy all of these fabulous things.  I fell in love with this outstanding leaf card.  Don’t you think the leaves look like you went out into your yard and picked them up?  This is certainly a wonderful card to send to someone special and let them know how grateful you are for them.  Who wouldn’t love to receive this card fabulous card in the mail?

Gratitude

This card was created using the technique called Faux Gilded Leaves.  Just using a few different embossing powders with the Leaf Prints stamp will make this a fun and simple card to make.  I love how Laurie used the leaf stamp for her focal image.  This stamp set contains both the bold and detail leaf images, which work perfectly for this technique.  Laurie also used platinum, gold, and copper embossing powders on the leaves.  Let me take you on over to Just Give Me Stamps where you will be able to follow Laurie’s video on her wonderful technique and each step she used to create this beautiful card.  You will be over-the-top inspired by Laurie and all of her fabulous projects

Four Mini Canvases By Patty Eskridge

Mini canvases are so much fun to create!  I love creating on a small scale.  Changing up the size challenges me in such a good way.  Creating mini canvases allows you to experiment with new techniques without having to think about filling a large canvas.  You can use leftover bits from your craft room and you can try out a new product and see how it works without using up a whole lot of it.  My favorite thing is to create art to fit into small spaces that add a bit of charm to your home.  Today’s mixed media pieces include paint, stencils, and tissue wrap.

You can definitely make a big impact with a small work of art.  Mini canvases will make a perfect gift and of course will be a beautiful piece of decor in your home.  Don’t hesitate to try some different techniques.  The variety of materials you use will add great detail and make your canvas a forever keepsake.  Your end results will be fabulous!  Patty gives a full step-by-step tutorial so let’s pop on over to The Crafter’s Workshop blog where you can see each step to create your own.  You will certainly be inspired by Patty’s wonderful talent!
