Hey There

Hello, my friends!  I hope you have all had a great week and that you will have a relaxing weekend ahead. Today I want to share some fun projects that are sure to give you a burst of inspiration. Grab a drink (and maybe even a treat), sit back, relax, and let’s get started.  Hope you enjoy this day!

French Country Journal By Kathy Clement

I want to share this super fun XL Journal Die designed by Eileen Hull.  I just love the versatility of this die!  Who wouldn’t love to have all your favorite recipes organized?  This is such a priceless keepsake and a great way to preserve your family heirloom recipes.  This is absolutely adorable both inside and out.  The cover is expertly adorned with Graphic 45 French Country papers and Petaloo Burlap Textured Flowers with yellow buttons, along with fun Tim Holtz Idea-Ology silverware and keys.

French Country Journal

This would make a perfect gift and with the holidays not too far away, (scary, right?) it is a great time to start making your gifts now.  Kathy has some great step-by-step instructions and tips to share, so be sure to check out her video by clicking here.  You can also click here to see her step-by-step instructions.  Kathy shares ideas for using the journal, tips for creating interactive elements, and lots of great techniques that you can use in your own crafting. This beautiful piece of artwork can be set out on an easel to add some charm to your kitchen.  How fun to take these same techniques and make up some cards or even a layout.  A big thank you to Kathy for sharing this stunning creation.

Hey There By Cindy Lawrence

This is one stamp set you will want to get right away and start creating!  Cindy always does such a fabulous job with her coloring skills and brings her images to life.  Cindy shares some fun tips and how she colored her glass cloche with an easy and effective way to create the look of glass with your Copic markers.  It is always fun to incorporate your stamping along with die cuts. Handmade cards are always so loved and treasured when received.

Hey There

Are you ready to begin?  Let me escort you over to The Creative Closet blog where Cindy will give you the directions how she created her beautiful card.  You will be over-the-top inspired by Cindy and you won’t want to miss out on any of her fabulous projects!  Enjoy creating, my friends!

Microwave Flower Press BY June Olsen

Are you one who loves to preserve and press flowers?  It can be so discouraging waiting for the flowers to dry before you can create with them.  Pressing flowers is a wonderful way to preserve their beauty, and the process couldn’t be more simple.  Today I will share a fun technique that will only take minutes.  Who would have ever thought to use a microwave?  Microwave flower pressing really preserves the colors and hues of the flowers and foliage much better than traditional flower pressing.  Microwave pressing flowers offers a wonderful way to savor the beauty of summer long after it’s blooms have faded from the garden.

Microwave Flower Pressing

Adding your flowers to a beautiful frame is a great way to display the flowers and enjoy them each day of the year.  These will make wonderful gifts!  I am thinking about making a few extra for the holidays.  I know many of my friends and family would love this.  I always have extra frames on hand, so this would make a beautiful gift and almost a free project. Be sure to hop on over to the Hometalk blog where you can see step-by-step instructions by June Olsen.  You will love this project!

Pineapple Upside Down Trifle By Lisa Jorgensen

This recipe is Incredible!  Layers of cake, glazed pineapple, and cream… it is sure to be a hit whenever you serve it!  This dessert will taste just like paradise.  It is colorful and pretty in the little jars.  The best part is that it is so easy that when you feel like something delicious, you can just whip this up quickly!

I hope you give this delicious dessert a try; I know you’ll be so happy you tried it!  Be sure to stop by Making Life Blissful for a printable recipe and ingredients list, and while you are there be sure to check out more wonderful recipes by Lisa Jorgensen.

I hope these projects have given you some inspiration today.  One of the things I appreciate most about my work is connecting with crafters.  I thoroughly enjoy being able to share projects from so many talented designers.  I love working at the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo shows, and hope if you attend any of them that you will stop by the Registration Desk and say hello to me.  I would love to meet you in person!  If you haven’t attended any of our shows, visit our Stamp & Scrapbook Expo website for a complete listing of events.  You will enjoy a fun-filled weekend with us!  in the meantime, I’ll see you back here next Saturday!

Best Day Ever By Amanda Baldwin

Take advantage of your beach surroundings by adding some soft colors and a few embellishments, and you will have a perfect layout for your vacation photos.  Children at play, the sounds of waves, hot sun, laughter, and the noise of the beach makes a day perfect!   A day on the beach is worth a thousand words.

Best Day Ever

This stunning layout was created by Amanda Baldwin using the Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection.  With a little help from Amanda and Pink Paislee, you, too, can create a beautiful beach layout in just a short amount of time.  This layout will bring back all of your fabulous memories, and what a fun way to reminisce about an amazing day at the beach.  Let me escort you on over to Happy Art Days where you can see more outstanding projects created by Amanda.  You will be so inspired by her beautiful talent.

Hello Gorgeous By Laurie Schmidlin

No paper crafter should be without a good supply of cardstock for stamping, embossing, painting, chalking, and creating backgrounds.  I love the way the rich khaki color of kraft paper looks and how it gives a homemade, comfortable feel to the card.  Laurie Schmidlin transformed a plain sheet of kraft cardstock into this gorgeous work of art.

Hello Gorgeous

For Laurie’s card, she used one of the Infinity Frames die cuts to frame a pretty floral scene.  She then stamped and die cut several images from the Give Love stamp set and coordinating Give Love die set.  For more detail on how this adorable card came together, click here and I will take you over to Laurie’s blog “Just Give Me Stamps” so you can follow along.  Using your imagination is all about creativity and taking something as simple as a piece of paper and making a beautiful piece of art.  I hope you have been inspired today to take out your stamps and dies and let your imagination run wild.  Have fun, my friends!

Gatefold Mini Album By Lisa Gregory

You all know how much I appreciate a unique mini album, and this one is no exception.  This mini album has pages, pockets, and tags.  It is a fun size and also chunky, so you can place dimensional pieces on each page and it will still close.  I am thinking this is definitely one of those that is a must do.  Just think of all the possibilities!  Mini albums always make a beautiful home decor piece, not to mention a conversational piece as well.  They are the perfect gift for any occasion and who wouldn’t appreciate receiving a handmade treasure full of priceless memories? They bring a smile to anyone’s face and an instant enjoyment for both you and the one receiving the album.

Gatefold Mini Album

There is definitely a lot of love put into all the perfect details of this darling mini album.  Click here so you can check out the fine details and step-by-step instructions given by Lisa Gregory.  You will have so much fun you won’t know when to stop!  Have fun creating, my crafty friends!

Mini Mason Jar Fruit Crisps By Ali Ebright

Anyone craving a fresh fruit crisp this weekend?  These adorable little single-serving desserts can be made with just about any fresh and juicy fruits, and they will give you the true taste of summer!  They are wonderful, sweet, and delicious!  I highly recommend a scoop of ice cream to go with each one.  No matter how you serve them you can’t go wrong.

Mini Mason Jar Fruit Crips

These fruit crisps are easy to make with mini mason jars, bursting with fresh and sweet fruit flavors.  They are easy to scale down for one or two people, or up to a full crowd.  The best part of all is you can make them with whatever fruit you would like!  Such a perfect little summer treat!

For the background, Jill has added lots of watercolor, paste, and stitching mixed in with pretty elements of the collection.  She really draws your eyes into her image.
