Sundays With Lorraine

Hello my creative friends, and welcome back to Stamp & Scrapbook Expo’s blog. It makes my heart sing knowing that you were able to carve out a little “me time” from your busy weekend to be creative, so sit back, relax, and enjoy today’s creative therapy, you deserve it!.

Selfie Love With Amy

Hand your child a camera and you can get the funniest photos. Just let them be themselves and have some selfie fun. Our kids grow up so fast, so being able to preserve these special moments is priceless. I must confess, I liked the selfie theme so much I asked my 22-year old daughter to take some goofy selfies so I could scraplift this sweet layout. Hugs to Amy for being such a great inspiration to her fellow paper crafters.

When I scrapbook, most of my layouts have multiple photos, how about you? I love this simple layout design – Amy incorporated six photos in a grid design and topped it off with some handwritten journaling. What a great tip for keeping the layout clean and simple, allowing the photos to take center stage.

Vellum Tips & Tricks by Laurie Schmidlin

Laurie had me at vellum. I love to use vellum but it does present some challenges, one of which is how to adhere the paper to your project. Part of the charm of vellum is that it is sheer so you can’t just use any adhesive and you also need to get pretty creative where you put it. Well, worry no longer, Laurie has some great tips and tricks to share when using vellum so be sure to stop by her blog to check them out.

I hope you’ve been inspired to create one of your handmade cards and mail it out to someone special. Receiving a handmade card through the mail is a perfect way to let those you love know how special they are.

My Favorite Things and Chibitronics by Karolyn Loncon

Have you had the chance to play with Chibitronics yet? I thought this adorable card design by Karolyn might inspire you to give them a try. These lights really add a WOW factor to your handmade cards.

Now that those creative wheels are spinning, I bet you want to learn how Chibitronics work. Click here and I will be happy to escort you over to their blog so you can see all they have to offer. Karolyn also prepared great step-by-step instructions showing how to create a parallel circuit with Chibitronics. Have fun!

Chicken and Brussels Sprouts with Apple Cider Sauce

Are you looking for something different for dinner tonight? Then you are going to love this easy to make Chicken & Brussel Sprouts recipe. This dinner is perfect for a weeknight meal or is equally at home when you’re having friends over for dinner. I know it looks fancy but with a little help from our buddies over at the Food Network you, too, can have this yummy meal on the table in less than one hour

Thanks for stopping by; have a wonderfully creative week and I’ll see you next Sunday. Hugs to all and be sure to check out our show schedule. With 19 shows all over the country, I’m thinking there’s an amazing weekend waiting for you and your creative peeps at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo!

Thanks for always making people feel special and welcome at the Expos. Although the Golden Ticket you gave me wasn’t a winner, the weekend surely was. Had a great time enjoying all the creativity in Pleasanton.
