Latest & Greatest: Cool Tools with Fiskars

Hey everyone! Roree here with today’s Make It Monday post.

Our next show is in Kansas City, MO on July 12 & 13. Stamp & Scrapbook Expo will be teaching four “Latest & Greatest” workshops at this show: Card Making, Cool Tools, Scrapbooking, and Stamping. Today I am going to be creating with new products from our Cool Tools class: FiskarsBanner/Artisan Double Tag Maker with Built-in Eyelet Setter.

If you take the Cool Tools class, you will receive the Tag Maker:

I love the all-in-one features of this tool. You can punch two different tag shapes in the large slot, punch holes in the small slot, and set eyelets to reinforce the tags’ holes at the back of the punch. It is very easy to use and I know it will be a tool I reach for again and again.

With it, I created this card:

I wanted to do something a little different than a standard tag or banner. As I punched out a few banner shapes using Authentique‘s Poised 6×6 Paper Pad (this collection is being featured in our Latest & Greatest: Card Making class), I noticed how the tag ends were fitting together and I thought it would make a pretty cool background for my card. So, I chose six different patterns and pieced the banner shapes together on a 4 x 5 1/4″ panel. I placed the banners on the panel leaving space between each piece. Then, I trimmed off the excess and adhered the panel to my card front.

I added a notched paper strip and black brads along the center of the card and finished by adding a sentiment die cut (also from the Poised collection), some pieces of a paper doily and some yellow paper roses.

I love the way the background design turned out and the pops of yellow on this card just make me happy!

This Latest & Greatest: Cool Tools workshop featuring FiskarsBanner/Artisan Double Tag Maker with Built-in Eyelet Setter will also be taught in Duluth GA, and Schaumburg IL. We hope you can make it to one of these shows.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. Thanks so much for stopping by!

This is a fantastic design. Thank you so much. I am a paper junkie and have made numerous cards using this lay-out. It works every time and is so attractive. I can just use the design or add a sentiment. I am going to sell my cards – let e know if you would like me to post some of them

I attended the Expo in Kansas City, Mo this past weekend. I took the Cool Tools workshop, and received the Fiskars Banner maker. I absolutely love it, and will be using it a lot! We did not make that card, but made one just as nice. I will be making your featured card here at home, you can count on it!! lol
