Saturdays With LeAnn

Hello, my friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful week.  Are you taking advantage of the summer days creating memories with family and friends?  Make sure you are snapping some photos of all these wonderful memories.  It is my hope that you have taken some time to escape into your craft room and take some “me time” to relax and create something beautiful.  Today you will be in for a real treat because I have some great inspiration to share with you.  Grab your favorite beverage and let’s explore some wonderful projects!

Bee-Utiful Mixed Media Layout By Denise van Deventer

We all know how much texture and dimension add to a layout.  I love the way that Denise added layers and depth to her layout.  Do you use stencils on your scrapbook pages?  Adding some stenciling to your background will give your photo and embellishments a real pop.  You can add richness with color, and it is a great way to personalize the background while getting that exact look you are going for.  Denise certainly has created a beautiful masterpiece with her layout.

Denise’s layout is full of all kinds of beautiful elements; she has such a great way of giving layouts a nice contrast.  This page isn’t bulky, and even though the flowers are dimensional, it will still fit in a frame or an album page.  Layers don’t have to be bulky, just using different elements builds to create dimension and depth.  Let me take you on over to the BoBunny blog where you can find step-by-step instructions and techniques used to create this beautiful layout.  Take some time while you are visiting BoBunny’s blog to see many more wonderful creations by so many of their design team.  You will certainly leave feeling very inspired.

Kaleidoscope Trio By Yes Virginialu

Whether you are scrapbooking, making cards, using mixed media, or creating any other paper craft, it is always fun to work with dies.  You can create a very distinctive pattern and a shape as a repeating pattern.  Yes Virginialu created a beautiful card using Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers for this purpose.  You know me, I always go crazy about a creative new technique.

Yes Virginialu layered the pieces and arranged them in a half circle and paired it up with black cardstock.  She even used the negative dies and added them on top of the semi-circle that gave this a dimensional look.  The lacy look of the dies gives her card such a vintage feel.  The colors are so striking against the black background.  It is so fun to create a card that expresses your personality.  Who wouldn’t love to receive one of your handmade cards?  They will be a treasure forever!  Click here so you can visit Virginialu’s blog where you can see all of the supplies used to create this beautiful card.  Yes Virginialu always has so many wonderful projects to share that you are sure to be lifted up by her talent!

Do It Yourself Picture Frames By Cutting Edge Stencils

This fun project of stenciling is super easy and fun.  It is also a great way for friends and family to spend some time together creating something they can share for years.  Bring an old frame or piece of furniture to life with a new paint job and a trendy stencil design.  What most inspired me to share this post was how these frames transformed from “ok” to “wow” just by reinventing a stenciled design to the frame.  Don’t get rid of those blah frames laying around.  It’s time to turn them into something beautiful!

If you feel inspired and would like to follow along on how easily and fun these frames are to create, click here and I will gladly take you over to The Cutting Edge Stencil blog for a visit.  You will love how you can create so many different items just by using stencils.  You will gain such great inspiration just by seeing so many possibilities you can create with stencils.  You will have so much fun you won’t know when to stop!  Have fun creating, my friends!

Lemon Poppy Seed Pillows By Lizzy Mae Early

These Lemon Poppy Seed Cookies are almost like a mini cake with phenomenal texture and a tangy lemon glaze.  As you can expect, the poppy seeds pop out with that fabulous lemony flavor.  These cookies are so light and fluffy, just like clouds!  These are certainly a delightful summer treat!

I bet your mouth is watering just looking at the photo!  These are a treat you can’t walk away from having eaten only one.  You will want to make a double batch because I can guarantee they will all be eaten up very quickly.  Let me take you on over to Your Cup Of Cake where Lizzy Mae will share her recipe along with an informative video.  You may want to make several copies of the recipe for your family and friends because this is one recipe they will keep asking for. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for stopping by on your busy summer weekend.  I hope you have been inspired by these great ideas and will have a fun crafting day!  Be sure to visit the individual blogs I have shared with you to see more details on these fabulous projects.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hugs to all,

LeAnn
