Mini Albums and Me With Keep It Simple

Hello!  Jennie McGarvey here with you today to share with you to share how I love travelers notebook inserts.  They are so fun for not only planning and lists, but maybe my favorite thing to do with them is to use them as mini albums.

For the past year or so, I’ve been working on a standard size travelers notebook insert that I’m using as a Book of Me.  It’s a project that brings me such joy, not only because I’m documenting myself, but getting to try new things and use products that I love.  I have a layout today that is exactly that and more!

This layout, using the Crafty Girls collection, is the perfect example of both things – documenting myself and also trying new things.  The trying new things is that Crafty Girls Frame stamp set – I wanted to use it to FRAME! I also wanted to change up the insides of the frames using photos, patterned paper and embellishments.

For the left side of the page, I wanted to balance all of the things happening on the right hand side.  I kept it simple, using a couple of small photos, patterned paper and the 3×4″ crop squad card.

I love adding layering in the most simple of ways. Not to mention using patterned paper as a mat for the photos.  I really like the way the color makes the photos pop!

Now, let’s dig in on the right hand side! I wanted to mimic the way the stamps are laid out in the packaging [why re-invent the wheel? I like the design in the package so using it on my layout made sense!]

Enamel shapes! I love these because they are so cute,  fit the theme perfectly and they fit nicely inside the frames.  I love that they can be used all over the page and they don’t feel redundant!

Of course I couldn’t ONLY use the enamel shapes! I had to also incorporate the Crafty Girls Flip Sides patterned papers [beautiful!] and the die cuts included in the Crafty Girls collection pack! Obviously though, the best embellishments though are photos that help remember those wonderful moments!

I love the Crafty Girls collection and I was reminded of that when I worked on this layout.  I also love how easy it is to use travelers notebook inserts for any theme you can dream up.  How will you use your travelers notebook insert?
