Summer

What is your favorite time of the year? Personally I have to say I love summer the most. My favorite things are summer, vintage, and nautical, so this was a perfect layout for me. I also hope that you enjoy this fabulous layout as much as I do. This inspiration piece was designed by Heather Jacob. This page has vintage written all over it. How perfect is this fabulous layout to scrapbook your summer memories?

For this gorgeous layout Heather used Maja Designs “Life By The Sea” collection. These papers have such a summery and nautical feel. It just gets you in the mood to scrapbook your summer photos. Patterned papers were used for the foundation giving it a feeling of the nautical theme.

Heather used black and white photos to let her creations be part of the focus, along with her memories attached to her photos. When the colors of your photos don’t blend well with your papers, black and white photos are a great choice. On this layout tags, hearts and strips were used to help create texture. The cotton twine mimics the ropes used when sailing.

Above is a close look of the tags and heart. The tag is a great place to write the title of the layout.

There is a lot of layering with tags. The top tag has a Tim Holtz metal piece and a number three from Prima.

To balance out Heather’s design she wanted something simple and small to fill in the corner. She cut a circle and two thin strips which she tucked around the circle. She secured them down with some decorative brads. From her stash she used a metal circle in the center. What a outstanding summer layout. Thank You Heather for your inspiration.
