Hello cardmakers!
When making a card, do you prefer symmetry? Or do you like to mix it up and create something unexpected? I’m very much into symmetrical designs, but sometimes it’s fun to add a unique twist to a card and set things on an angle.
For today’s card, I used a new butterfly stamp set and die called Enclosed: Butterfly by Papertrey Ink (the large butterfly). This lovely set is brand new and will be available January 15th. Setting it on an angle gives it a refreshing, unexpected look and helps keep the design interesting! The outline is cut with a teal cardstock, then the back of the butterfly is cut with vellum and stamped. I embossed the wings with white embossing powder.
To add more interest to the background, some smaller butterflies are stamped also with Papertrey Ink’s Bitty Butterflies. The Bitty Butterfly die was used to cut a few patterned paper ones as well. The paper is from Crate Paper’s Farmhouse line, the 6×6″ paper pad. Love the patterns and colors! I pulled the colors from this paper pad for my card before I began. Patterned paper always inspires me as to which colors to use together.
I hope you’re inspired to get crafting today! Happy Wednesday!
