A Very Merry Christmas CASE

This is what I love about CASEing.  In case you don’t know (pun intended!), CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything!  Especially with Pinterest now, it is so easy to copy and share things we like with each other.  I found these on Pinterest which led back to splitcoaststampers.com (one of my personal favorites for design inspiration!)

So here’s how CASEing works:

You see, you use your own stuff to make a similar card inspired by someone else’s design.  Then, I shared it with a local class, and they loved it, and will make their own versions!

Here is how I made my card.  You’ll see the similar elements across all three.

Instructions:

1. Stamp the sentiment on some scrap Very Vanilla card stock with Cherry Cobbler ink.
2. Punch it out using the Large Oval punch.
3. Ink the edges with Crumb Cake ink.
4. Using a scrap of Crumb Cake card stock and the Oval Frame Designer Frames Folders, emboss the oval frame.
5. Tear around the frame.
6. Sponge some ink on the torn edges and on top of the embossed areas.
7. Adhere the stamped sentiment inside the frame with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.
8. Punch out 4 flowers using the Boho Blossoms punch and a scrap of Cherry Cobbler card stock.
9. Crumple those flowers and maybe add some Crumb Cake ink to them as well.
10. Stack the flowers and punch a 1/16″ hole for the brad.
11. Adhere them on the frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give them some lift.  Make sure to fluff the flowers again!
12. The photo corners were made from the Postage Stamp punch, cut in half diagonally and then cut out the centers, or if you have a photo corner punch you could use that as well.  I like the postage stamp edge, so that’s how I did mine.
13. Add the brads to the photo corners, and maybe a little Crumb Cake ink for good measure 🙂
14. Now assemble your card.
15. Fold the card base in half.
16. Adhere the Crumb Cake ribbon around one sheet of Designer Series Paper right at the edge and then adhere it to the card front.
17. Next adhere the second piece of Designer Series paper, so that it looks like the ribbon is around both pieces, or so that it looks like the ribbon covers over the seam of the two patterns.
18. Center your photo frame in the top portion and adhere.
19. Tie a bow with Cherry Cobbler Seam Tape and adhere with some glue dots.
20. Don’t forget to add those photo corners at the bottom, I offset mine a little off the patterned paper to show the edges a bit more. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals here too.

Ta da!  You’re done.  Was that easy?
