Hello, my crafty friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper. Do you like the summer heat or do you spend most of your time in the comforts of your cool, air-conditioned craft room? Either way, I hope that you are experiencing a wonderful summer day and now that you’ve arrived we can begin our creative therapy, so sit back, relax, and enjoy.
Mixed Media Passport Mini Album By Pam Bray
You all know how much I appreciate a unique mini album and this one is no exception, even the book is handmade using Sizzix XL Passport Book Die. I’m thinking this is definitely one of those “need it in your life” dies. Think of all the possibilities! You can click here and I will be happy to escort you over to the Sizzix site so you can order your own or if you happen to be at one of our Stamp & Scrapbook Expos, you might want to stop by and visit Maria B at the It’s Cheaper Than Therapy booth; she always has an amazing selection of Sizzix products.
You will find all kinds of inspiration from Pam Bray on her blog Scrapbook Flair. I hope that you’ve been inspired to get those precious photos off your phone and into a mini album. Have fun and stay crafty, my friends.
Just Breathe By Kim Van Diepen
In celebration of the beginning of summer, I thought you might enjoy this simple summer-themed card. What a perfect card to send someone that needs a little encouragement. Let’s face it – life can be hectic at times and we need to be reminded to take a deep breath and say out loud “This, too, shall pass.” I love the simple carefree feeling that this sweet card brings to the table and I’m sure the recipient will feel that way, too.
This is one of those cards that most people will leave out just because It makes them feel happy and loved. It brings me back to the beach on a beautiful summer day. I hope you’ve been inspired to send one of your handmade treasures to someone special today. Click HERE to stop by and spend some creative time with Kimberly; you’re sure to pick up some handy tips and techniques.
Stamped Sachets By Tamera
Do you use your die cuts on materials other than paper? I hope so! I love how Tamera created these adorable sachets using the Sizzix Alterations Postage Stamp Frame Die to cut out some muslin and linen. Not to worry, if you don’t have a field of lavender to fill the sachets, you can use any store bought potpourri and or essential oils for your sachets. The lavender images were stamped on the fabric using distress paints. I love stamping on fabric – it’s another way to use our precious stamps and stencils. I am currently teaching a Make & Take at the Creativity Center where we stencil on a flour sack dish towel using archival inks and that class is such a hit! I hope you’ve been inspired to step outside the box and give this technique a try.
With a little help from our creative friend Tamera, you can have a set of these wonderfully fragrant sachets in no time. Wouldn’t these be perfect to put in your drawers, in the linen closet, the car, or even if you need a little gift? Click HERE and I will take you over to Tamera’s blog Plays Well With Paper so you can follow along with the easy-to-follow instructions.
Grilled Salmon Skewers with Garlic and Dijon
There is nothing like salmon on the grill to kick off those summers BBQ’s. These take less than 30 minutes to make and you end up with such juicy, flaky, and flavorful salmon – everyone will be asking for seconds! What’s not to love?
If you’d like to give this world famous recipe a try, click here and I will be happy to take you over to Natasha’s Kitchen so you can print out the recipe. This is one of those delicious meals that will get you out of the kitchen (and back into your craft room where you belong) in no time! Bon appetit!
Thanks for stopping by; I always enjoy our creative time together! It’s show time for me and Stamp & Scrapbook Expo. The marathon of shows has begun and with 19 shows around the nation, the question is not what show you should attend, but rather how many shows you can attend! I’ll meet you at the Creativity Center and we’ll make something beautiful together. I do hope you will take a minute or two to visit the individual blogs I have shared today so you can see more details on these wonderful projects. Hugs to all who have shared the inspiration for today’s post.
