Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: Twelve years ago I was working as a corporate securities attorney in San Fransisco. When my daughter was born in 2005, my husband Scott and I jumped at the chance to move to Arizona where we could afford a home and a backyard. We now also have a son (they are 12 and 10 years old) and I am a stay at home mom so I can drive them to and from their charter school and activities. We’ve added two Labrador / Weimaraner puppies to our brood (Crobsby and Cole) and at a little over one year old they are 125 and 85 lbs respectively! We will probably never get used to the 115 degrees that are common in the Arizona summers, but we love the family-oriented town we live in.

I’ve always loved creating and I even had a childhood “scrapbook” with torn out magazine photos and Mrs. Grossman stickers, but it wasn’t until my oldest was born that I decided to make a first year album for her and really got bit by the papercrafting bug. I bought a few basic supplies, which turned into a few more and before I knew it, I was obsessed. I quickly accumulated enough scrapbooking supplies that I decided they should be put to other good uses as well, like card making. These days scrapbooking and card making are still my two favorite types of paper crafts. I’ve had so many amazing experiences related to paper crafts including, being a member of design teams, being published in print or online publications and getting to know other paper crafters around the world.

Favorite thing to create: It varies! I always love sitting down to make a layout, but lately I have really enjoyed the process of designing and creating cards just as much!

What do you love about this hobby? I love the mind/body connection that I experience while creating. I love the creative outlet it provides when so much of life is daily tedium. And, I love the community of like-minded people who truly understand the notion of, “I just had to have that pretty piece of paper!”

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I grew up on the east coast and moved to San Francisco after college with no money and no job.
2. I’m an only child.
3. I’ve travelled to Quebec, several cities in France, London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and several places in Thailand as well as several US states.
4. I love sewing on paper, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to sew fabric. I tried to make a nightgown for my daughter’s doll once and it totally stressed me out. Ugh, SLEEVES….amiright?!
5. Before moving to Arizona I had never lived in a landlocked state. I miss the ocean!

SUMMER CHILL by Rebecca Keppel

I have been obsessed with contact photos lately. I love that using them allows me to add a bunch of photos to one layout.

POOL TIME IN APRIL by Rebecca Keppel

This layout is based on a sketch by Kristine Davidson. In the sketch there was a 4×6 photo in the top lefthand corner, but I used tiny contact photos in that space. I told you I was obsessed with tiny photos!

LOVE CARD by Rebecca Keppel

When creating cards there are few things I love more than die cutting, shakers, and rainbows!

Oh and inking! I love creating inked backgrounds over stamped and heat embossed backgrounds like in this card:

Ombre backgrounds are a close second to rainbows in my book! This card has all my favorites: die cutting, inking, shaker, and ombre!

Thanks so much to Rebecca for sharing her many talents with us today!! Be sure to drop by her social media sites listed at the top of this post to see more of her incredible work!
