Saturdays With LeAnn

Blending Ink

Welcome back, my friends, to Weekly Scrapper!  Are you getting tired of cold weather?  Sick of being inside? Starting to get antsy?  Well, let’s take some fun into your craft room and start being creative.  Let me give you some inspiration for new and fun projects that are sure to warm your heart!  I hope they will inspire you and that you’ll have fun creating some of your own.

Love You By Alicia McNamara

We all know how much layering and dimension add to a layout.  This is definitely demonstrated on Alicia’s beautiful page shown below.  When creating a layout, choose a focal point and then create embellishments that will continue to tell the story.  This certainly will make it easier to create and accomplish the goal you are going for.  Alicia added lovely details that draw your eye to the priceless photos and that helps make this layout so amazing.  Scrapbooking is not just about the photos and embellishments, but the meaningful story behind the photos.

Love You

This is one of those perfect designs that can be adapted to fit any occasion.  I just love all the details on this layout from the layering to the amazing cluster of embellishments, all while letting the photos take center stage.  Don’t be afraid to mix and match supplies you have in your stash.  Most important is to preserve the feeling of those precious memories you’ve made.  I highly recommend you visit Paper Craft Secrets anytime you need a burst of creative inspiration.   Alicia will truly inspire you with her wonderful talent.

Blending Ink By Laurie Willison

This adorable card shows off ink blending, a simple way to add big impact to your papercrafting project with a minimum of effort.  It is such a fun technique and makes your project look amazing!  Using a soft swirling motion, blend a color of distress ink over a portion of the surface of your paper.  Add a second color, swirling the blending tool over the surface.  Continue to add swaths of color, blending together until the entire surface is pigmented.  Now you have a beautiful background ready to add some dimension.  Who doesn’t love a little extra color in their world?

Blending Ink

To finish up this adorable card, Laurie created a shaker card using the Heart Throb Kit from Queen and Co.  How perfect for the one you cherish on Valentines Day.  Love is definitely in the air!   Let me escort you over to Soapbox Creations to see Laurie’s darling cards, along with the list of supplies you’ll need to create your own Valentine’s card.  Take some time today to experiment with ink blending and have fun creating!

Inbox Tray By Christy James

Bring some style to your home with this charming inbox tray.  This small tray is so attractive!  It would be great on the kitchen counter, bathroom, bedroom, or even in your living room.  It’s great to hold accessories, bathroom toiletries, or even kitchen cooking items.  This is a project you will be so thrilled about!  You are going to want more than one in your home because it’s so stunning to the eye.

Inbox Tray

I love the concept of trash-to-treasure.  It is thrilling to transform discarded items into beautiful and useful treasures, so find yourself an old box tray and have fun with it.  Before you know it, you will have a beautiful tray to enjoy for years to come.  Be sure and visit Christy James at Confessions of a Serial Do-It-Yourselfer; you will find many more wonderful projects along with her step-by-step tutorials.  You will be inspired to turn old items into something beautiful.

Chocolate Raspberry Cake By Glory Albin

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought a pretty cake would be very fitting.  This Chocolate Raspberry Cake is beautiful, delicious, and amazingly easy to put together.  You will have one happy sweetheart on your hands when you serve a piece of this fabulous cake!  This is also a perfect cake for a party.  The moist chocolate cake layers, filled and frosted with a sweet and delicate raspberry frosting, is one that is sure to delight your family and friends.

Chocolate Raspberry Cake

This is definitely a cake you will want to make more than once.  Let me take you on over to Glorious Treats where Glory Albin will share her recipe with you. This is one recipe you will want to have in your recipe collection!  I guarantee you will put smiles on many faces when you serve this scrumptious dessert.  Happy baking!

It’s been a miserable January. I did get away from the cold
for a week but it didn’t help a lot. It’s a struggle to get
anything craft accomplished. I need sun. Love your page.

I live in Arizona so check back with me in the summer. I will be miserable then! I retired in December and have been spending some of my happiest days in my craft room. (My happiest are with my daughter and grandson). I love your ideas. I don’t feel I am very creative so I love to start with someone else’s design and then go from there.

I know what you mean about Arizona heat!! Spent June -September helping my daughter thru several strokes but we actually had fun. Helped her do scrapbooking that got her thru some depression bouts that made her feel good about herself. She has since gone back to work but still loves scrapbooking.

It’s February and love is in the air. Valentines Day, couples getting married, wedding anniversary’s. I love making valentine cards to give and of course to receive. Who doesn’t like chocolate? Chocolate in any form is the best and this cake looks really yummy. I’m going to surprise my husband with it on our wedding anniversary, February 25.
