Grab a drink (and maybe even a treat), sit back, relax, and let’s get started.  Hope you enjoy this day!

French Country Journal By Kathy Clement

I want to share this super fun XL Journal Die designed by Eileen Hull.  I just love the versatility of this die!  Who wouldn’t love to have all your favorite recipes organized?  This is such a priceless keepsake and a great way to preserve your family heirloom recipes.  This is absolutely adorable both inside and out.  The cover is expertly adorned with Graphic 45 French Country papers and Petaloo Burlap Textured Flowers with yellow buttons, along with fun Tim Holtz Idea-Ology silverware and keys.

Microwave Flower Press BY June Olsen

Are you one who loves to preserve and press flowers?  It can be so discouraging waiting for the flowers to dry before you can create with them.  Pressing flowers is a wonderful way to preserve their beauty, and the process couldn’t be more simple.  Today I will share a fun technique that will only take minutes.  Who would have ever thought to use a microwave?  Microwave flower pressing really preserves the colors and hues of the flowers and foliage much better than traditional flower pressing.  Microwave pressing flowers offers a wonderful way to savor the beauty of summer long after it’s blooms have faded from the garden.

Microwave Flower Pressing

Adding your flowers to a beautiful frame is a great way to display the flowers and enjoy them each day of the year.  These will make wonderful gifts!  I am thinking about making a few extra for the holidays.  I know many of my friends and family would love this.  I always have extra frames on hand, so this would make a beautiful gift and almost a free project. Be sure to hop on over to the Hometalk blog where you can see step-by-step instructions by June Olsen.  You will love this project!

Vellum Overlay Cards

Do you have spring fever?  I know I sure do!  After the winter most of us had, I am sure you are ready for some beautiful spring-themed projects.  With spring on it’s way, it is also a reminder that Easter is just around the corner.  When I think about spring or Easter, pretty pastel colors and flowers come to mind.  So with that said, I would like to share some fun projects using flowers.  I hope today you will be inspired with these fun spring projects.

Best Days Of Our Lives By Alicia McNamara

We all know how much texture and dimension adds to a layout, card, or mixed media project. Alicia has definitely demonstrated this in this layout. We often use the term “Happy Papercrafting” because we know the opportunities with paper are so much more than just on the page.  Today, Alicia shares her gorgeous example of beautiful altered art. I would also like to share a tip that will help you when creating your outstanding layouts.  TIP: Choose a focal point on your layout and then create embellishments that will continue to tell the story from that point.  It is amazing how well this works!

Best Days Of Our Lives

Alicia’s layout is full of all kinds of beautiful elements.  It is really light and colored with some pastels, but there are also some black parts here and there to give it a nice contrast.  I absolutely love that!  Alicia adds wording perfectly and it tells so much about the photo.  This layout is certainly an eye catcher and is very well done.  Let me take you over to Time to Create where you can write down all of the products you will need to start your own layout.  Take some time while you are at Alicia’s blog to see more of her beautiful creations.  You will certainly leave her blog feeling very inspired.

Vellum Overlay Cards By Jennifer McGuire

Not sure how to use vellum?   Do you ever struggle using vellum?  Here’s a fun technique using vellum that will turn your curiosity (or struggles) into having fun and being very creative.  You will enjoy working with vellum so much that I guarantee you will make many more projects using it. These beautiful cards created by Jennifer McGuire have a vellum overlay that give each one a very soft look.

Vellum Overlay Cards

Jennifer started her cards by simply using white embossing powder to emboss the floral image on vellum.  There is a little bit of glitter added to the lines of the flower for extra interest and a pearl added to the center. Adding some color to her image, she started by stamping the layering floral image with the Altenew Beautiful Day Stamp Set using different shades of Altenew ink on a small note card.  Let me escort you over to watch Jennifer’s YouTube Video on how she created her card, along with her step-by-step instructions.  You are going to love every minute of her video.  Step out of your comfort zone and take some time to experiment and just have fun creating!

Absolutely Beautiful

Melissa’s card started with the word beautiful to create the theme for her card.  She used the Reverse Confetti You’re So stamp set for her sentiment.  The beauty of this stamp set is it has four uplifting words that can be mixed and matched to create numerous uplifting sentiments.  She also used the Blooms ‘N Buds stamp set to create the pretty blossoms.  For the background, Melissa used the XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts.  Melissa’s creativity is amazing!  I love her combinations and the colors she chose are so pretty and perfect!  Click here and I will take you over to see more of Melissa’s wonderful talent and fabulous creations.

Pumpkin Pie Cake

Welcome back, my friends, on this lovely and cool fall day.  The weather here in Utah has become chilly, and with days like today I really enjoy staying inside and working on some crafting.  I hope you will be able to spend the day to create some of the things you have on your list.  My hope is that you will be inspired by today’s projects and will enjoy our today’s Weekly Scrapper post.

Stay Wild & Sweet

This adorable layout has multiple photos with an interesting background.  These two things are not always so easy to pull together.  The desired end result is to have your photos take center stage and everything around them should only be there to complement your photos. This layout is a perfect example of just that.  The beautiful background colors really complement the photos, instead of competing for your attention.  You automatically have your eyes drawn to the precious photos and then you take in the rest of the design. This makes for a perfect layout!

Stay Wild & Sweet

This is simply stunning!  The twine accents as well as the embellishment groupings are very tastefully done.  For an easy-to-follow tutorial with a lot of great photos, click here and I will take you over to the Soaring blog where you will be inspired by Jinny Newlin.  Have a fun time crafting!

I just love making cards!  Whether they are simple, detailed, any occasion, or seasonal they are just so fun to make.  I think the one thing I love most about cards is taking the time to share the finished product with those who I care about and love.  I often think of how blessed I am in my life to have such great friends and family and so I need to send out more cards as this one created by Debby Hughes.

Frankenweenie “Sparky” Cake

Do you ever stumble across something creative and find yourself stopped in your tracks at the talent needed to create such an amazing finished project?  That’s how I felt about this cake.  I found myself reading every word of the blog post.  I hope you are as impressed as I was with this adorable Halloween themed Cake.

The creator of the cake is Heather Baird and she has an incredible blog and book call Sprinkle Bakes.  If tackling the task of recreating such an amazing cake is bouncing around in your future plans, I highly encourage you to check out her blog:

Heathers inspiration for the cake is the brand new Tim Burton film Frankenweenie.  She says “I can remember watching the original version of this movie when I was nine years old. That was way back in 1984, but the story still tugs at my heartstrings today. Tim Burton based the film on the relationship he had with his first dog (aw!) and the personal feel really shines through. Most every pet owner will be able to relate to the love that young Victor Frankenstein has for his dog, Sparky. I certainly saw myself and my first dog (a scruffy mutt/chihuahua named Danger) in the story.”

Here’s a peak at what you will get when you visit her blog.  She has complete instructions on how to recreate the cake, recipe and step by step assembly including pictures.  Here is the link:

Be sure to check out her book.  I know I plan on picking up a copy!
