Gold Brush Lettering

Saturdays-with-LeAnn

Welcome back, my friends, to Weekly Scrapper!  I hope you are enjoying your summer, and are finding the time to be inside crafting, out of the heat. I feel honored today to share some fun projects with you. I hope you will be inspired and get some of those creative juices flowing. Relax and enjoy some time for yourself today!

The Good Life By Missy Whidden

When creating a scrapbook page, the photo itself is usually a major guide to your process, determining both color and embellishments.  You don’t want to overwhelm your photo so you can choose to go with lighter shades and subtle colors that will create nice dimension.

The Good Life

Missy created her layout around the stars.  She used the large star to layer behind her photo making her photo stand out.  Missy did some machine stitching along with sprays mists and paints on the background to create a soft, watercolor effect.  Let’s pop on over to Little Nugget Creations where Missy will give you some wonderful instructions on how she created this fun layout.  What a great way to go back and reminisce with your special photos!

Just For You By Julia Stainton

White on white is such a clean look. It can easily be dressed up to make it look more elegant; or add just a small amount of color for a more casual look. When working with lots of white, be sure to add dimension and/or texture to add some interest.

Melon Ball Ice Cubes By Layla (Laylita) Pujol

There is nothing better on a hot summer day than something refreshing to drink!  I have the hardest time drinking plain water, but adding a lime or a lemon seems to make it taste so much better.  I came upon this recipe for making melon ice cubes and I am one happy camper with my water now.

This will also give your drinks some fun summer colors along with the flavor.  For a quick and easy drink, you can also place the melons in Sprite or sparkling water; add a squeeze of lime juice, and a mint to garnish. This simple drink not only looks beautiful, but has a delicious hint of melon, lime, and mint.  Such a refreshing summer drink!

Thank you for stopping by on this beautiful Saturday.  Stay out of the heat and enjoy doing some crafting. Be sure to visit again next week, as I have some more fabulous projects to share with you.  Have a great weekend!
