Fall Ombre Card

This card took my breath away when I first saw it!  And with the ombre trend all over, I thought it was a perfect card to feature today.

Designed by Maile Belles

Here’s how Maile created the card: “Using burgundy, orange and light orange cardstock, tearing and distressing the edges, then layering, I created a neat gradient color effect. I stamped and heat embossed the cream card base with tiny polka dots, from Polka Dot Basics II, in clear embossing powder. The embossed dots are such an awesome detail, I really LOVE the way it turned out! You have to try it!

Wrap the edge with twine and tie with a button. Layer the leaves, from Beautiful Blooms then stamp in orange then with cream polka dots, under the button. I chose this sentiment, from Men of Life, for the card because of it’s polka dots. Then finished the card off with two more buttons and rounded the bottom corner. I am really happy with the way it turned out!”

I think I’ll try out the clear embossed polka dots on a card soon.  The effect doesn’t show up so well on the photo, but it still looks cool.  Plus I like how she tied the polka dots into the stamped images too.
Are you going to try it?
