Boys Birthday Gift

It seems like I get stumped when making cards for boys, teens, and men.  So, when I get stuck I always try to think of fabrics used in men’s clothing such as; denim, tweeds, pinstripes, etc.  That seems to always get me started.  Dig deep down into your stash of crafting supplies and see what you can come up with.

Birthday Gift

While coloring his shorts, I wanted them to look like denim. Using the paper Blueberry Brown Bag from The Paper Temptress, I ran this through my die machine with Papertrey Ink’s Linen Impression Plate.   I shaded the edges with Denim Distress ink and stitched all around it.  Adding some gold brads made the pants look like the rivets you see on jeans.  On the reverse side of the paper is a different color, and looks exactly like a brown paper bag.  I used it to paper piece the gift box he is holding.  Adding a cute little ticket stamp just added the last touch to the card.  Ok…now we have to say making masculine cards isn’t all that hard.  I would like to thank Katarina Menzies for this adorable creation and sharing her great inspiration with us.
