Simply Embossed Heart

How many times have you sat down to start a project and end up with a pile of paper and crafting supplies with no direction in your mind?  It can happen to even the most creative person.  This is the beauty of embossing folders and punches, it will help relieve that frustration.  You can never go wrong when using one of them.  Your card, layout, or craft project will always look beautiful.  This adorable card was created by Penny Smiley.  As you can see this card was dressed up with a simple embossing folder.

As simple as this card is, it is very elegant and has that Victorian style to it.

Instructions:

  1. Cut the Very Vanilla card stock to 11″ x 4-1/4″ – basically in half lengthwise or “Taco”
  2. Cut the Designer Series Paper into 2-1/2″ x 2″ rectangles.  You’ll need 4 of them.
  3. Cut out one doily from the Flirtatious Die Cut paper and use the back side which is white.
  4. Punch one scallop from a scrap of Pool Party.
  5. Punch one heart from a scrap of Calypso Coral.
  6. Emboss the heart in the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  7. Let’s assemble!  Fold the card stock in half to create the card base.
  8. Adhere the four rectangles on the card front leaving about 1/8″ margin on all sides.
  9. Slip the ends of the ribbon under the rectangles.  Make it easy on yourself and put down one flat piece of ribbon and then tie another around it to create the bow.
  10. Adhere the doily right in the center.
  11. Add the scallop circle and then the embossed heart.  You may want to put some Stampin’ Dimensionals under the heart 🙂
  12. Last step:  stick on 3 large pearls.  See, that was easy!
