Quick Birthday Cards In a Pinch

Celebrate card set by Danielle Flanders

Hello! Today’s post is all about making quick and easy birthday cards when you are in a pinch and need a card fast! Often times, I am pulling together a birthday ensemble for one of my girls’ friends birthday parties at the last minute and need a card in a hurry. Repeating a sentiment (with stamps or dies) is easy to do, and you won’t have to take time to think about a fancy design for your card. The bold, fun color will do all of the talking!

First, I chose 5 or 6 colors of cardstock that coordinated. I picked a red, two shades of pink, two shades of orange, and a yellow. I loved the ombre effect. You’ll need a birthday-themed die, such as “celebrate” or “party,” or even some number dies like you see here would work as well.

Celebrate - cardstocks

I decided to use the “celebrate” die from the Wet Paint Cuts III die set by Papertrey Ink. The word was die cut one time from each color of cardstock with my Cuttlebug machine.

Glossy Accents was used to adhere the words to a white A2 size base, however a Xyron machine would have also worked well to attach the words. I started in the center adhering the middle two words, lining them up with the lines on my craft pad underneath to get them straight. I then adhered the bottom two words, then the top two.

Last, I added a few clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh for more dimension and sparkle! You could also add little Rainstones. A sentiment was stamped at the bottom with Papertrey Ink’s Wet Paint III stamp set. I trimmed a little bit of the white off around the edge of the card base and attached the finished product to a colored card.

Celebrate - add sequins

This is more of a girly card, but you could do the same with boyish colors as well with blues and greens like I have here.

What do you think… quick and easy? You could have several of these words cut out ahead of time in case you need them. Also, almost any theme would work with this design… a thank you card, a hello card, etc.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a great week!

    Hello Danielle,
I just popped over form your blog – these are fantastic cards and I love that they can (potentially) come together quickly (i’m a snail card maker – LOL). I like how you have left some of the negative spaces in place – brilliant! Thank you 🙂
