Thank you for joining me on this wonderful Saturday! I am so excited to share with you some great projects that I discovered this week on several blogs. I found this quote by Natalie Chanin that I just had to share with you before we begin our projects. “When you spend time making something with your two hands, you impart love in a way that buying something never can.” How true is this? Your handmade projects touch people in so many different ways, and I hope today you will be inspired with the projects I have to share.
My first project today is a beautiful layout created by Di Garling. I fell in love with the vibrant colors and the vintage charm of this layout. Even though there are so many details and dimension to this layout, the photo is still the first thing your eyes are drawn to. After all, isn’t this the reason we scrapbook; to preserve those special photos?
Di has used several pieces of chipboard from 2 Crafty Chipboard on her layout, along with some beautiful flowers of different sizes, colors, and shapes. Don’t be afraid to color your chipboard to create some beautiful colors to add to your page, along with adding your embellishments to get that perfect look for your photos. Just have fun and remember there are no set rules when it comes to creating your layouts. I am always inspired when I visit Di’s blog, Di’s Creative Space, and you will be, too.
This fun and simple card is perfect to share your love on St Patrick’s day, which will be here before we know it. This beautiful card, created by Birgit Edblom, is not only for St Patrick’s day, but is also a versatile card you can use throughout the year.
I just love the deckle edged frame with the embossed lettering. Birgit used the small shamrock die set Leaflets by Penny Black, along with the word love heartfelt die. Give your project dimension by adding foam adhesive behind the shamrocks. So stunning and inspiring! Who wouldn’t love to receive this adorable card? Visit Birgit’s blog for even more of her beautiful creations.
I love sharing mixed media projects with you; they are so popular and applying texture is a lot of fun to do. Sometimes it is hard to get into the grove of having a messy project, but that is OK; you can still create mixed media in a more simple and clean way. Today’s mixed media project is on the cleaner side, yet still portrays a beautiful, textured look.
Megan Gourlay is a fabulous designer for Bo Bunny. She created this outstanding mixed media canvas wall decor using several of the new products from Bo Bunny. If you will hop on over to Bo Bunny’s blog you will see a full tutorial how to create this beautiful masterpiece, along with a complete list of supplies needed. Who doesn’t need a little extra color in their world? I hope you will be inspired to give this a try. Remember that creativity involves in breaking out of your traditional style. Never hesitate to try something new.
Sentiments can be very important when creating a project, and this darling card couldn’t have said it any better. Kraftin Kimmie Stamps has a new release by artist Becky Pearce. This set is called Words of Inspiration and features nine thoughtful quotes. Stamps are so fun to use when creating scrapbook layouts, cards, or any type of crafts. Sentiments can be used as the focal point of your project, in combination with an image, or as the finishing touch on the inside of cards, journal pages, and tags; there are so many possibilities.
Whether you keep your card simple or very detailed, your sentiment will always stand out. Cards may be small but they are packed with so much inspiration. I challenge you today to send out a card to a loved one who you may have not been in touch with for some time. Just think how happy it would make that person to receive a surprise card in the mail.
OK, my crafty friends, it is time to take a break and go into the kitchen and whip up a yummy dessert for your weekend. This Banana Caramel Cream dessert is one that everyone is going to love. A layer of pastry cream, fresh bananas, whipped cream, caramel sauce, and graham cracker crust – how much better can it be?! Layer these all together and you will create a pretty amazing dessert.
This looks so yummy that I am definitely going to give this one a try. Let’s pop on over to Glorious Treats to get our recipe from Glory Albin.
I look so forward to being with you on Saturdays. I hope you have a very relaxing weekend and a wonderful week coming up!
These are all gorgeous creations! TFS!
