Saturdays With LeAnn

Saturdays-with-LeAnn

Welcome back to another wonderful weekend! I hope this Saturday brings some time just for you to relax.

I have been asked quite often if my job is fun. I definitely have to say YES, YES, YES! I have the privilege of seeing many beautiful projects and bringing them to you. My hope is that this will be a way to give you some inspiration and ideas for your way of creating. It brings me great joy to see the beautiful items that you create and to watch how your creativity is a gift you give to others. In addition to sharing lovely projects on Weekly Scrapper, it is also very rewarding for me to teach at the Scrapbook Expo workshops and being with such wonderful people who love the world of crafting. I see so many talented, happy, kind, and giving people at our Scrapbook Expos. They amaze and inspire me!

Today my first inspiration in scrapbooking is this beautiful layout “Never Give Up” created by the talented Mona Pendleton. It is easy to preserve the happy moments, but sometimes hard to create a layout for the challenging moments of life. It is important to create for the difficult times as well as the happy. We can go back and ponder on how hard that time was and appreciate the strength we received going through it.

Never Give Up

Mona has such a gift for creating layouts. She started building this layout combining various Prima papers and Spellbinders dies. To create her layout she was inspired using the “Let’s Get Sketchy” sketch challenge. Sketches can be such a great way to start your inspiration. I love how she framed the photo and used a bit of red and blue to pop out some color. Be sure to visit Mona at Cupcakes Creations for more of her outstanding projects.

I love cards!  Whether they are simple or detailed, cards are so fun to make. They can be created by adding beautiful papers and embellishments, including sweet sentiments, and sharing the finished product with the special people in your life.

Hugs & Kisses

Today’s beautiful card was created by using “Once Upon A Springtime” collection from Graphic 45. Here Romy has fussy cut her flowers and layered them with pop up foam. This gives the card some character and dimension. Romy also added some pearl embellishments to the centers of her flowers, butterflies, and clock giving it a more elegant look. She used several different patterns of papers; layering them harmoniously combines everything together. Let’s pop on over to Scrapstuff & More so you can see more of Romy’s beautiful creations. You will be so inspired by her that you won’t want to leave her blog!

I was sitting today enjoying a bit of warm weather here in Utah, and knowing that spring is just around the corner brings us to Easter. It is hard to believe that we are coming upon that day so quickly! I want to share with you an adorable card that is perfect for Easter. This rubber stamp is from Crafter’s Companion Bebunni Floral “Sweet As A Rose.” Isn’t this image so adorable?

You're As Sweet As A Rose

Giovana did a beautiful job with her coloring technique using Spectrum Noir Markers. The elements work really well together. For full instructions and a list of supplies, jump on over to her blog Believe. Giovana Smith will share in full detail how she created this adorable card.

Making your house a home is all about the details you add to make it your own.  Whether you add a picture to your wall or a decoration on your shelf, adding the little things can make a big difference. Today I have a very inspiring way to add a little fresh vintage look to your home. This doily table runner is so unique and beautiful.  What a wonderful idea to use up your treasured doilies that were made by grandma, mom, or even a gift from a friend you cherish. I have many doilies that were my mom’s and I just can’t part with them. This idea is such a great way to display and enjoy each hand stitched doily created by my mother.

Doily Table Runner

If you love this doily table runner but don’t really have doilies hanging around, check out some thrift stores. You can pick these up there as well as garage sales and will spend very little on them. This stunning doily runner was created by Ashley Ann who was inspired by a photograph on Country Living Magazine. You can find more on Ashley Ann’s projects on her blog Under The Sycamore.  A big thank you to Ashley for creating this doily table runner and sharing her instructions.

Wow! This is too pretty to even begin to eat. What a perfect treat using fresh fruit, lemon cream, and a flaky pastry!  With just a few ingredients, you can create a beautiful yummy dessert that is quite easy to make. What a way to impress your friends and family.

Lemon-Cream-Puffs_Glorious Treats
