  47. Deidra Leake says:

I have a rather large family and we all live nearby. I spend time with them throughout the year. But especially at Thanksgiving we do just that. No matter how large the group gets (up to 45 people), we each have to stand in a circle while holding hands and tell what we are thankful and grateful for this year. From the littlest to the oldest we each get a turn. Everyone in my family along with friends love it. This is what giving Thanks is about, acknowledging it to God and one another.

This Thanksgiving Day my family is taking part in the Turkey Chase (2mile walk or 5k run) in Corpus Christi Texas. me to make them! That makes me happy that they are happy!!

  52. Connie Ferguson says:

I think that Thanksgiving makes me feel like a kid again. The wonderful smell coming from the kitchen! It’s not just the turkey. It’s the smell of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, ginger, etc. just floating through the air. It’s hypnotic! And while you are under this spell, you are laughing and laughing at Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the peanuts gang on T.V. It doesn’t get any better than this.

  53. Nan Spier says:

If the weather is nice, we gather as a family in the morning for a rousing game of pickleball! If the weather is rainy, we stay inside with a fire. The energy of 4 dogs (or more!), the family and their guests – it’s an adrenal rush. Love the savory smells of dinner cooking. Enjoy trying recipes from our guests and other family members. Always eat way too much, but a nice hike after dinner cancels out all the calories, right?

  54. Marianne Oakes says:

I love Thanksgiving because it gives family and friends a time to be together and enjoy each other’s company while sharing a delicious meal. My family and I celebrate Thanksgiving at my mom’s house. Her house feels so warm and cozy when we’re all together. My sister makes the turkey, cousins bring the side dishes and beverages, and I make the pumpkin pies. Our mom just enjoys it all — she deserves it. I hope everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving!

They are awesome!

  57. Jean Bullock says:

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is that it’s not about status or gift giving. It’s about family and sharing a meal together. Even the poorest of the family can contribute a little something. Even if the meal is mac and cheese, that’s OK because it’s the company that matters.

  58. Christie says:

Love the turkey with stuffing, candied sweet potatoes, jello with cream cheese & fruit cocktail, vegetables, the homemade gravy from the turkey drippings. Deviled eggs as a snack before dinner while prep is going on. The champagne and/or apple cider to drink with the meal. The smell of scented candles in the room and watching TV and perhaps the nap afterwards AFTER the pumpkin pie, of course! Makes for a perfect holiday meal. By now, are you stuffed to the gills?
