Snow Shaker Card

Becki-Adams-headerHey friends, Becki here! I missed you last week as I was celebrating Thanksgiving with my family. It’s snowing outside my window right now which is the perfect setting for the card I have to share with you today.

If you were in the Latest & Greatest card making class in the last few Stamp & Scrapbook Expos, you’ll be thrilled with the card I have to share with you today. Jillibean Soup has the greatest shaker cards. These are SO much fun to play with! There are tons of shapes just waiting to be filled with fun goodies. You could fill these shakers with SO many things – glitter, sequins, confetti, punched shapes, buttons, and even fake snow. I chose to to fill this card with some fake snow. I picked up a bag of fake snow at the dollar store the other day, and with one small bag you could make dozens and dozens of shaker cards.

I found that when filling the shaker card, less is more. When you add a bunch of “stuff” in the shaker portion, it doesn’t move around as much. You want your little bits and pieces to move all around when you shake the card.

These little bits of snow are extra fun because they have a little bit of static. That small static makes the snow stick to the front of the shaker so it looks like it’s snowing on the snowman.

I used the Snow Fun collection by Carta Bella paper. The embellishments on this card are very minimal. In fact, I only used two die cuts and a bit of patterned paper from the 6×6 paper pad. The snowman die cut from the ephemera pack fit perfectly in the shaker portion of the card. The other die cut (below the shaker portion of the card) is also from the ephemera pack and served as the sentiment on this card.

I wish you could see this card in real life. It’s so cute!! The little bits of “snow” make all the difference in the world. Thanks for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog. I’ll see you again next Thursday! Happy December, everyone!
