Sundays With Lorraine

Sundays-with-Lorraine

Hello, my crafty friends and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper. I just returned from the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo held at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and I’m happy to report that a fun time was had by all. I’d like to send out a virtual hug to all who attended. I really had a great time hanging out with you in the Creativity Center. You guys are a true inspiration!

“Amazing Day” Canvas By Anita Bownds

Here in sunny southern California the average temperature is in the high 80’s, so that means beach days and lots of pictures. I rarely ever go on and on about a paper line, but I can’t help myself with this “Holy cow, you need it in your life!” collection.  Its no secret that Kaisercraft Collections are AMAZING!! But this Coastal Escapes Collection is a must-have for all you beach lovers. Whether you’re a scapbooker, a card maker, or a mixed media queen there is something for everyone.

Knowing You Makes Me Happy By Micheline “Mimi” Jourdain

Spring has sprung on the Penny Black blog. I love how Micheline used the new Love Art stamp set and drew and painted the simple stems which created the sweet bouquet. The creative possibilities are endless! I love floral stamps – you can use them 365 days a year. I hope you have fun creating your own work of art.

I’d like to thank Mimi for sharing her gorgeous card with us. I hope you’ve been inspired to break out your Distress Inks and make some magic. Keep those smiles coming, one handmade card at a time!.

Enjoy The Simple Things By Kay Miller

Have you been following the watercolor trend? It’s my new technique of choice; I can’t seem to get enough of that artsy, hand-painted look that you can achieve with only a few stamps, water based markers, a simple paint brush, and some tap water. Don’t forget to use watercolor cardstock since you’ll be using water.

Once you master this very simple technique, you’ll soon be saying “Wow, I really am an artist!” Click HERE and I will escort you over to spend some creative therapy with Kay Miller. Her designs are like a breath of fresh air!  Happy stamping, my friends!

Sew Cute Needle Book By Eileen

How many times have you gone to mend something or sew on a button and can’t seem to find a needle and thread? Frustrating, isn’t it? Today we have Eileen Hull to the rescue! I fell in love with this “oh, sew cute” little book. What a great way to keep our needles and sewing supplies handy and looking good at the same time.

Being on the road as much as I am with Stamp & Scrapbook Expo, I’m always on the lookout for cute projects to keep me entertained while I’m traveling from show to show. I think this one’s a keeper! The next time you’re waiting for that Dr’s appointment, you could be creating something fun and useful. Click here and I would love to take you over to Eileen’s blog so you can follow along with her step-by-step instructions. Thanks, Eileen, for once again being such an inspiration to your fellow crafters. Keep those wonderful ideas coming!

Creamy Orzo with Bay Scallops, Asparagus, and Parmesan

Fresh, sauteed scallops are the star of this dish. Celeste used bay scallops, or you can live on the wild side and go for the larger sea scallops. Either way you are sure to fall in love with this easy and oh-so-delicious recipe.

Creamy Orzo with Bay Scallops, Asparagus & Parmesan

The creamy orzo pairs perfectly with the satisfying crunch of the asparagus, and the addition of grated Parmesan cheese just makes this dish a real comfort food. Your family and friends are sure to love this one so you might want to print out several copies of the recipe!  I highly recommend stopping by the Sugar & Spice by Celeste blog anytime you’re in need of something delicious to serve for dinner. Bon appetit, my hungry friends!

Thanks for stopping by today and I’ll see you next Sunday with more great projects to inspire you throughout the week. I’ll be at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Denver, CO on July 15th & 16th and would love to meet you in person. If you’re in the neighborhood, I’ll meet you in the Creativity Center and we’ll make something together!
