Hello, welcome to Inspiration Station with Becki Adams. Today, I have an awesome Creative Scrapbooker Magazine GIVEAWAY to share with you. Recently, our friends at Creative Scrapbooker Magazine sent me a copy of their Summer 2017 issue. As soon as I opened the envelope and saw the magazine, I fell in love with the layout on the cover. I knew I had to create a layout of my own inspired by the layout on the cover. 
The first thing I noticed about the gorgeous layout on the cover was the beautiful yellow background. I love yellow! The yellow patterned paper on the background of the cover layout made the photo pop off the background, I wanted to use a yellow patterned paper for the background of my layout as well.
After choosing a photo for the layout, I chose patterned papers that would compliment my photo and coordinate with the yellow background. Then, I created lots of layers behind my photo to mimic the layers found under the photo on the cover layout. 
If you’ll notice, there is a banner shape below the photo on the left side, I chose to add a dark blue banner to my layout to match my nephews pajamas in the photo. 
The title on my layout is a bit larger than the title on the cover layout. I really wanted to emphasize the word “smile” on this layout because my nephew’s smile is so adorable! Under the title, I did add a bit of journaling. Adding journaling is an absolute MUST for me on all of my layouts. If nothing else, I add the names of people who are in the photo and the date. (I did add the name and date to this layout as well. I just did it after I took the photographs for privacy reasons.)

I haven’t been scrapbooking in years (my supplies are antique) but I do want to use them before I buy more. The scrapbook expo in grapevine was the first time I got out of the house and REALLY enjoyed myself in 4 years! So I am trying to get my mindset back on my scrapbook, so.lord knows I need all the.imspiration I can get thanks

Wow! I wouldn’t think to use a bright yellow for the background, but this layout really pops – especially with the bright blue accents! Love the idea for the banner to match the pajamas!?

I have to say yellow always lifts me up. In school I had a yellow bedroom and I loved waking up everyday. I’ve had a yellow and and a yellow office. In other words love this issue.

Both LOs are so sweet! It is always so nice to find a LO that inspires you so much that you use it to create one of your own. One of the nicest thing about scrapbookers is that a real scrapper is always so honoured and tickled pink when you use their work to create your own. (Not a lot of artists are always that pleased when that happens!) With all the beautiful papers and embellishments and treasures we can find to add to each project, no two LOs will ever end up exactly the same but we still honour the person who inspired us when we get that spark of inspiration from their design. Thank you to all the scrapbookers and paper crafters who have shared their awesome work to help keep us all inspired! 🙂

I love how the yellow with white polka dots and pops of blue colors so perfectly bring out the colors of blues and green in the baby’s picture. It’s a layout I would love to try my hand at!
I love to “scraplift” layouts. I actually have a Pinterest board named: Pages I want to scraplift. That bright pop of yellow really made the page stand out.
