Welcome to another wonderful Saturday here on our Weekly Scrapper blog! I hope you’ve had a great week and are now enjoying some carefree time for yourself. I am excited to share some of the great projects that I discovered this week. I hope you will be inspired to find some creative time for yourself this weekend.
Chase Your Dreams By Sonia Thomason
As you probably know by now, I love a layout with different backgrounds; especially ones that you add your own personality to. Just adding a splash of ink, using mediums, or even using stencils always creates a beautiful and inspiring background. I’m also a big fan of layering. Layering can add so much to your layout, but remember it is meant to complement your photos. Your background should take a back seat and allow your photos to be the center stage of your layout.
Sonia has added some aged metallic heat embossing powders to her layout. Using these powders really gave her layout some dimension. With the perfect layering, flower blossoms, clocks, and metallic leaves, she really pulled this layout together so beautifully. I fell in love with every little detail on this layout. You can see more details on how Sonia created this masterpiece at Pieces Of My Life. Be sure to visit her blog; you will also see many more of her outstanding projects.
Thank You By Shari Carroll
I want to share a very gorgeous card created using the Circle of Leaves die. Shari added three layers of different papers and placed them with a slight rotation so each of the layers would show. I love the soft colors, the layering, and how elegant this beautiful card is. How fun it is to create with different varieties of die cuts!
I have a really hard time throwing a handmade card away, so here is a tip for you: take your card, cut it in half, and create scrapbook pages using both the outside and inside of the card. I have mine categorized by themes, such as Birthday, Christmas, etc. It is so fun to pull out the album and look at all the wonderful talent and time put into these beautiful cards. You can also capture your memories and take your favorite cards and recycle them into a cover of a mini album. No need to get rid of those beautiful cards, just find a new way to enjoy them! A handmade card like this is sure to make many smiles happen. To see more of Shari Carroll’s inspirations come with me over to her blog My World. You will be so inspired by her talent.
