Saturdays With LeAnn

Beautiful You

Hello, my creative friends!  LeAnn here with you on the blog today.  Happy Saturday and welcome back to the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog for another dose of creative planning and fun!  I hope you are all having an awesome August.  We just left our wonderful show in Schaumburg, IL and are attending this weekend in Edison, NJ.  We have had a great time and really enjoy getting to see many of you.  We still have six more shows this year and we hope you will be able to fit one of those into your schedule.

You Are So Beautiful By Mona Pendleton

Are you inspired to do great things with your products?  Hopefully this gorgeous layout will give you even more inspiration.  Incorporating mixed media into your papercraft projects and scrapbook layouts will help your imagination run wild.  Add depth, texture, and color to just about anything and surprise yourself with just how creative you can be!  That is exactly what Mona did with this layout.  She added lots of embellishments including homemade flowers, doilies, foliage, and butterflies.  She also used some molding paste and gesso to create texture and design on the background.  We all know how much texture and dimension will add to your layout!

You Are So Beautiful

Whether you consider yourself a scrapbooker, mixed media designer, or card maker (or even a bit of each) remember that we all share the same passion of being creative and use many of the same supplies.  Put on your creative hat and begin to have fun. This is one of those designs that can be adapted to fit any occasion.  Remember there are no set rules for crafting.  Make sure to visit the Cupcake And Creations blog where Mona has a ton of fun things to share including great projects and challenging ideas!

Beautiful You By Shawn Crawford

Have you been seeing the Eclipse cards all over Pinterest and the internet?  Have you been wondering how they were created?  I want to share a few simple tips to help you get started.  The technique is not limited to letters. You can use numbers, punches, or any of your favorite Framelit dies.  You can stamp on the cardstock or use a designer series paper, it is up to you.  You can also emboss the cardstock as well.  Get creative!
Run the letters through your die cutting machine and lay them on your background paper.  Line them up where you would like them placed.  Carefully stamp the images along with the letters on your cardstock.  Add some pop up adhesive dots and adhere the letters just slightly offset on the card.  It is that simple and yet look at the beautiful creation you have just made!  You can really add some beautiful images to your cards.  I would love to see the smile on the faces of who receives your beautiful handmade cards.

Isn’t it funny how trends come and go and eventually come back again?  I love the trend of using embroidery hoops.  It is so fun to be creative with embroidery hoops, even when using paper.  This charming wall decor shows an exquisite way of using a hoop to create a beautiful wall decor item for your home.

Altered Embroidery Hoop

This wonderful inspiration was created by Jaya Raghuvanshi at My Craft World blog.  When you are not feeling particularly creative, grab some embroidery hoops and some of the wonderful products you have in your craft room, and let them do all the hard work for you!  Jaya created her embroidery hoops using floral embellishments, stamp wires, wood veneers, chipboard, stamps, and much more.  Click here so you can see all the products that Jaya used.  As you can see, her hoops turned out fabulously.  She created such a masterpiece!

Don’t overlook this yummy dessert; make sure and give it a try before summer is completely over.  You will be so surprised how easy, how good, and how ADDICTING this is!  Let’s pop on over to My Recipes so you can write down the recipe.  Have fun in the kitchen and enjoy!

I hope you have been inspired today by these fun projects.  It is always a pleasure for me to share some beautiful projects every Saturday.  I hope each of you will create something outstanding this weekend.  Have a beautiful week ahead and I will see you back here next Saturday.

Hugs to all,

LeAnn
