Saturdays With LeAnn

It’s a brand new week of inspiration.  We feel honored to share projects from wonderful and talented designers; they come up with some of the most awesome and fun ideas. Today you will be inspired by a scrapbook layout, a fun card created with stamps and die sets, a fabulous mixed media canvas project, and last but not least, a yummy and delicious Mousse Brownie recipe you won’t want to miss out on.  The possibilities are endless!  Sit back and enjoy!

Beach Bliss By Cathy McGrath

Do you often look at papers saying “oh, I just love this paper” but then end up with too many papers on the table and feel overwhelmed about how to move forward with your design?  Limit yourself to 2-3 papers and you will be set to go. This technique will help you pull together beautiful layouts.  Cathy created her layout using the Beach Shack Collection from KaiserCraft.  There are so many components to this collection that it really makes creating layouts and projects so much fun!  I fell in love with this outstanding layout and couldn’t wait to share it with you.

Cathy created her background using distress sprays and inks, clear and regular gesso, modeling paste, hemp/burlap, stencils, and cheesecloth.  This adds some great texture and dimension to her layout.  Click here and I will take you over to KaiserCraft blog where you will find all the steps that Cathy took to create this layout.  You will want to jump right in and create your own version of this outstanding layout. Have fun!

Happy Birthday By Laurie Schmidlin

I just had to share this lovely birthday card created with a fun stamp and coordinating die set.  I just love the soft colors, the layering, and how elegant this beautiful card turned out.  You can showcase the perfect message by using such beautiful paper, stamps, and die cuts.   Who wouldn’t be thrilled to receive such a heartfelt card on their birthday?

There is nothing that makes my birthday more special than receiving a handmade card.  I have a really hard time putting a handmade card in a drawer or (heaven forbid) getting rid of them, so I take my cards and turn them into a mini album.  There is no reason to get rid of those beautiful cards; just find a new way to enjoy them!  A handmade card like this is sure to make many smiles happen.  To see a list of supplies to create your own card click here and I will escort you on over to Just Give Me Stamps.  Be sure to look at more of Laurie’s projects because I know you will be inspired by her wonderful talent.

Little Red Robin Mixed Media By Riikka Kovasin

Canvas projects are so delightful to create.  They become such a wonderful decor piece of art to hang on your wall.  It also serves as a conversation piece to display on your entry table or end table in your home.  This outstanding canvas really spoke to me and I hope you find it as inspiring as I do.  There is nothing more beautiful than a nice hand-painted and/or inked layered background. Riikka added some embossing powder here and there to give a frosty feel to the canvas.  Adding that gorgeous little bird turned this canvas into a real piece of art.

I love having gifts on hand, and making a canvas piece is a great handmade gift.  A beautiful canvas decor piece for your home is a fabulous gift to receive. This will always be a treasured gift of memories.  I discovered this lovely canvas created by Riikka Kovasin on the Paperiliitin blog.  Riikka is such a talented lady and her beautiful masterpiece was featured in Mixed Up Magazine.  I hope you are inspired to send someone special one of your handmade treasures.  Have fun creating!
