Sundays With Lorraine

Hello, my crafty friends and welcome back to Stamp & Scrapbook Expo’s blog. I have some fun projects to share with you today, so sit back, relax, and let’s get started with today’s creative therapy.

Book Lover’s Ensemble by Ashley

Call me old-fashioned, but there is definitely something to be said for curling up on the couch with a good book.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my Ipad, but it’s not the same experience.  Wouldn’t this be a perfect gift for those special book lovers in your life?  Choose a few books from their favorite authors, tie a pretty ribbon around them, add your handmade tag, top it off with an adorable heartfelt card, and you have the perfect gift.

If you are as inspired by this project as I am, the stamp set used is by Papertrey Ink titled All Booked Up.  This stamp set is an ode to book lovers everywhere. The large framed image can be used not only for focal points but also to create custom bookplates when the appropriate labels are added.  This set also includes several unique bookmark embellishment sentiments that are sure to bring a smile to any avid reader every time they mark their last page read.

Coffee And Cake Card By Shelly Hickox

Shelly had me at coffee and cake!  What a fun way to present a gift card to the coffee lovers in your life.  Sometimes gift cards get a bad rap for being an impersonal gift, but when presented in this sweet, handmade card I think that changes things a bit, don’t you?

How cute is this coffee cup card? Shelly used Karen Burnison’s Coffee Cup Pop Up Die.  It has tabs in the back that hold a gift card.  Another great masculine card designed by Shelly!  You could also girly it up by simply changing up the color scheme if you’d like to.

Magnetic Mini Album by Diana Hetherington

Crafting is a whole lot more enjoyable when you have your supplies organized. How clever of Diana to design a magnetic mini album to store her treasured thinlets (thin dies). With a flip of a page or two, you can find exactly what you need.  It’s a beautiful thing!  I think I see a few of these bad boys in my near future, how about you?  With a little help from our creative friend Diana being organized doesn’t have to be painful.

Who says storage has to be boring?  What a beautiful way to keep your thin dies organized.  Click here and I will be happy to take you over to Diana’s blog so you can take notes. I’d like to send out a big hug to Diana for sharing this fun and oh-so-useful mini album.

Salmon And Asparagus Recipe With Hoisin Glaze by The Cookie Rookie

“I don’t want a delicious, healthy dinner that cooks on one pan and can be on the table in under an hour,” said no one ever!  You and your family will love this simple and healthy seafood recipe and it’s a major bonus that cleanup is a breeze.

I’m all for the Hoisin sauce but if you wanted to shave off a few calories, Becky will walk you through your options.  Click here and I’ll take you over to The Cookie Rookie food blog so you can print out the recipe.  Bon appetit, my hungry friends.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope that you have an amazing week ahead of you.  See you next Sunday for your next creative therapy session.

Hugs to all,

Lorraine

Like the idea of choosing some good books as gifts and adding the pizazz to the presentation.
