Welcome back on this beautiful spring day!  It makes me smile knowing that you have found some time today to get crafty.  After all, creating is very therapeutic.  I hope you will be inspired today and that you won’t hesitate to try something new; you never know what you are truly capable of unless you explore.  Sit back and let the inspiration begin!

Happy Sisters By Missy Whidden

With the winter season behind us, I thought you might enjoy a nice spring-inspired project.  I fell in love with the beautiful pink and spring colors combined with all the fun embellishments that are perfect for those spring and summer photos.  Missy truly has a gift for putting together wonderful scrapbook layouts, and this little beauty is no exception.  Starting with a plain piece of white cardstock, Missy added some color and texture to create the background.  Using white gesso first, she then added some texture paste through a small grid stencil.  She also used some distress oxides to add all that pretty color.  Don’t you just love the artsy look and how you can customize the background to coordinate with your paper and embellishments?  What a perfect background for your lovely black and white photos!

Sweet Sisters

There is so much more than first meets the eye on this darling layout.  You will definitely pick up a few new tips and techniques to use on your layouts by following Missy’s step-by-step instructions on how she created her layout.  I highly recommend stopping by Little Nugget Creations to see many more of Missy’s fabulous projects.  Happy scrapping, my dear friends!

Mona used the embossing enamel splatter technique on her card.  Don’t you just love the details on the flowers?  The gorgeous colors and the enamel splatters add a fun element.  I also love the soft hexagon background in the lovely pink shade.  This card reminds me of sweet flowers and warm breezes on a beautiful spring day.  Let’s pop on over to Cupcake Creations where you will find all the materials that you need to get started.   You are sure to love Mona’s blog and will enjoy all of her wonderful projects!

Lemon Meringue Layer Cake By Kitchn

Although the meringue peaks make it look exactly like a pie, underneath the topping is a moist, lemon-flavored cake.  This beautiful cake really catches your eye and tastes so delicious.  Can you imagine serving this at a wedding, bridal shower, or any other occasion?  Your guests will be wondering just where you bought this and won’t they be surprised when they found out you were the one who made it!

Lemon Meringue

I love great cake recipes, so when I set out to find one, I was overwhelmed by the amazing beauty of this cake.  I knew I just had to share it!  This Lemon Meringue Layer Cake is extremely light, refreshing, bursting with lemony flavor, and not to mention absolutely delicious. ( I couldn’t help but think about all of Lorraine’s lemons on her tree when I found this recipe.  Too bad we don’t all live close to her because she is so generous with her lemons!)  Let’s pop on over to The Kitchn where you will find this recipe and great step-by-step instructions.  This is one cake you will want to make to impress your family and friends.  Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed today’s projects and that you have been inspired to begin your weekend crafting.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing week ahead of you.  I will see you back next Saturday with some more wonderful projects to share!

Hugs,

LeAnn

Katie it is never too late. Sometimes life gets so busy we just don’t find the time, or have the time to do it. A little suggestion. Start something you want to work on. Find a place where you can leave it out, and if it is only 15 to 20 minutes a week to work on it, you will find yourself accomplishing more than you think. Good Luck!
