Sundays With Lorraine

Hello, my crafty friends and welcome back to the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog.  Today is a little bittersweet for me since I just returned home from our last show of the year.  It was an amazing show and right in my backyard (no flying is a beautiful thing).  The Ontario show reminds me of an episode of “Cheers” where everyone knows your name and a fun time is guaranteed to be had by all.  The bitter side is not crafting with you in person for three months – but not to worry, because we have the blog to keep us all inspired.

Layering Layout for using up your scraps

This adorable layout inspired me in so many ways that I knew I needed to share the love. The thought of creating a priceless layout using my favorite scraps truly makes me happy.  I must confess, I am a bit of a paper hoarder, or should I say “paper collector?”  How could I not be when I live on the Stamp & Scrapbook show floor, right?  With that said, I have a lot of scraps that I can’t seem to part with.  What do you do with all your leftover scraps of papers from a collection?  I hope this layout inspires you to create something beautiful with the paper you’ve been collecting.

I know many of you share the same title “collector of fine things” (like paper) so I knew you would appreciate a layout designed around putting your scraps to some good use.  For those scrapbookers who like clean lines, you are going to love Kasia’s tips for the perfect layered background.  If you’d like to see how this layout came together, click here and I’ll take you over to Kaiser Craft blog for a visit.

Mini DIY Succulent Pumpkin Place Cards

How cute are these place card holders?  Wouldn’t they be an adorable addition to your Thanksgiving tablescape?  Place cards are a guaranteed way to make your guests feel special. I also love that these pretty place cards can also double as party favors that your guest can take home with them.  It’s a win-win and they are so easy to make.

This time of year you can find all kinds of unique pumpkins and gourds that would be perfect for this project and I always see those mini chalkboards at most craft stores.  For a complete supply list, click here and I will take you over to the Giggles Galore craft blog so you can take some notes.

Warm Wishes by Donna

I guess since I live in Southern California this cute Christmas card really made me smile. Chances are pretty good that I will be Christmas shopping in shorts and a pair of Brighton flip flops! 🙂  Hugs and happy holidays to all that are blessed with a white Christmas and for those that aren’t, enjoy those warm wishes and be one with your 80-degree holiday.

Donna paired the bright sunny yellow zigzag paper from the Beach Babe Paper pad with the sunny palm tree image from the Deck the Palms stamp set (I think I need this set) to create this fun holiday card.  If you’d like to see how easily this sweet card comes together, click here and I will be happy to escort you over to Pink & Mains blog.

Instant Pot Mongolian Beef

With the Instant Pot being all the rage, I thought you might enjoy a little Mongolian Beef recipe.  With a little help from your friends over at Jo Cooks food blog and your new Instant Pot, you can have this amazing Mongolian Beef on the table in about 1/2 an hour.  That’s less time then it would take you to order in and wait for it to be delivered.  Plus you have the added bonus of customizing it your way.  What’s not to love?

If you’d like the recipe click here and I’ll be happy to take you over for a visit.  Jo has a gift for taking everyday ingredients and creating tasty treats that you and your family will love.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you back soon.

Hugs to all,

Lorraine
