We started a Christmas fruitcake tradition a few years ago. I bought a fruitcake (yuck!), wrapped it in tinfoil and ribbon and gifted it to someone at our annual Christmas Eve party. They had to freeze it and pass it along to someone else the following year, etc. We want to see how long we can keep the fruitcake – maybe our grandkids or great-grandkids? They each have their own box and they decorate the tree with their own box of ornaments. They also UN-decorate too which is always a plus! They love remembering their old phases of what they liked as a child as they hang their ornaments from strawberry shortcake dolls to the old original star wars and teenage mutant ninja turtles.
