Saturday With LeAnn

Welcome back, my friends on this cold winter day!  Are you tired of the cold weather?  Maybe tired of being stuck inside?  Starting to go stir crazy and antsy?  Well, let’s take some fun into your craft room and get creative!  I want to give you some inspiration for new and fun projects that are sure to warm your heart!  Being that Valentine’s day is just around the corner, I hope these projects will inspire you and you will have fun creating some projects of your own.

You Are Loved By Nicole Nowosad

This is one of those perfect designs that can be adapted to fit any occasion, and it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day.  We all know how much layering and dimension add to a layout;  this is definitely demonstrated on Nicole’s beautiful page show below.  Nicole added lovely details that draw your eye to the priceless photos, and that helps make this an amazing layout.  Remember, scrapbooking is not just about the photos and embellishments, but the meaningful story behind the photos.

When creating a layout, choose a focal point and then create embellishment that will continue to tell the story.  Don’t be afraid to mix and match supplies you have in your stash.  This is a great way to use some of those you have had tucked away for years.  The most important thing is to preserve the feeling of those precious memories you have made.  I  highly recommend you to visit  Simple Stories any time you need a burst of creative inspiration.  The wonderful designers will truly inspire you with their wonderful talent.

Hatbox Makeover By Christy James

Have you ever stumbled across an old hat box at a thrift store or a garage sale, or maybe one that grandma or your mother had?  You love it, and really don’t want to get rid of it?  Don’t know what to do with it?  Well, today you will be so inspired when you see this wonderful step-by-step tutorial by Christy James.  You will be over the top thrilled to know keeping this hatbox is now sensible, and a great way to use it in your home!

You can get more creative by lining the inside with some of your favorite fabric.  What a perfect box to sit out and enjoy.  This will make a great conversation piece as well.  How impressed will your family and friends be when they learn that you restored this into a beautiful home decor piece?  This can also be a great way to store away some of those important items you don’t know where to put.  You can see a wonderful tutorial that Christy has to share with you.  Let’s pop on over to Confessions Of A Serial Do It Your Selfer where you will enjoy so many more makeovers that Christy has created.  She always shares some over the top inspiration on restoring items.

Raspberry Tart Pie By Becky Hardin

Up your baking game with this raspberry tart recipe!  It has the softened buttery dough with a rich and almond frangipane filling and a layer of raspberry jam.  The best part about this baked goodness is that you can serve it hot or cold.  You can make this way in advance before serving it as well.

This is the perfect dessert to make when having guests over because you don’t have to take much time in the kitchen.  What a beautiful presentation for any party or family gathering!  Let me take you on over to The Cookie Rookie where you can find the recipe along with a great video tutorial on how to make your delicious dessert.  This is one you will certainly want to give a try.  Enjoy!
