Hi everyone, and happy Saturday! Since it’s Saturday, that means more inspiration for your weekend! I attended our Scrapbook Expo show in Orlando last weekend and met many of our readers. I came away full of inspiration from so many of you lovely ladies and your creativity that I couldn’t wait to get home to share some more wonderful projects with you. Get comfy and enjoy some fun projects that I believe will give you a ton of inspiration.
To start off today, I would like to share a masterpiece layout with you. I have told you before that Gabrielle Pollacco is one of my favorite designers. I always leave her blog Such A Pretty Mess learning something new and very inspired by her unlimited talent. Her layout today is a feminine shabby chic style, using papers from the Maja Design collection “A Gift For You” and accents using Dusty Attic chipboard. You probably would never have guessed that this was a Christmas collection. Gabrielle’s layout teaches us not to be afraid of using Christmas papers for everyday use; it is surprising how you can incorporate them into a beautiful layout that isn’t about Christmas.
I just love the way Gabrielle added the zipper set, adding it on the inside edge of the banner piece. Her hearts, flowers, and vintage lace really give the layout that feminine touch! Be sure to visit Such A Pretty Mess and Gabrielle will walk through how she created this beautiful layout. I promise you will receive mounds and mounds of inspiration from her.
Are you one that likes to keep your projects clean and simple? Today I have a darling card that is clean, simple, and very colorful. What a beautiful card to welcome Spring! Create this card to get away from those winter blues.
Have you ever come across a template or die cut and wondered just how you could incorporate it into your project? Jump on over to I’m In Haven to learn from Lisa how she created this sensational card. You will see a few different styles she created to show ideas of adding colors or keeping you project white and simple. Thank you, Lisa, for your wonderful inspiration and allowing us to share your card.
If you are like me, you never have enough birthday cards on hand. Let me give you a tip! When creating a scrapbook layout or any other paper craft project, you always have scraps left over. Don’t put them into your stash of scraps. Take five more minutes and use those left over scraps to create a generic card. You can add any sentiment onto it later. You will have so many cards that you can choose from when you need one.
Here’s another beautiful card, this one with a shabby chic look with some fun stamped flowers from Stampin’ Up!. Flowers can brighten our craft-loving hearts and also the mood of the recipient. In my neck of the woods, March is very unpredictable. One day it may be very warm, the next cold. Just as we start to pull out our spring clothing, excited to begin planting flowers and bring out our patio furniture, the weather decides to change to cold. But weather doesn’t keep us from creating cards! We can bring springtime into our creations anytime of the year.
This darling card was created by Narelle Farrugia. You will enjoy more of her wonderful creations by visiting her blog, Stamplicious. You will be filled with so much inspiration. Narelle created her card using several stamps from Stampin’ Up! such as Petite Petals, Papaya Collage, Simply Sketched and Flower Shop. She also used the designer series paper called Afternoon Picnic from Stampin’ Up!. Don’t you just love the fresh look of the sweet card? It is amazing what a cheerful card can do!
Does your home need some perking up? Maybe you want a color change, but you’re not ready to paint your walls? Today I have a perfect solution for you just by adding some fun bright pillows in your rooms. Stenciling on pillows can change the whole look of your room and bring some fun in while creating them!
Stencils don’t have to always go on scrapbooking projects, wood, or furniture. What a fabulous way of using your stencils on these soft, fluffy pillows. Create your own look by using stripes, chevron, flowers, squares, ect. Let me take you over to The Cutting Edge Stencils blog and introduce you to Courtney. You will see her beautiful work and fabulous techniques on how to paint and stencil pillows. And they will take you less then an afternoon to complete! Give it a try; you will love the end result – beautifully finished pillows that will add so much décor to your home.
With St Patrick’s Day coming soon, this will be a perfect dessert to make for dinner that evening. Not only is it green, but oh my, it is delicious as well! Poke cakes are so creative and look like you spent hours making them. The jello mixture that you pour over the white cake makes it super moist.
This delicious citrus-inspired cake is like a sweet taste of summer. You will really want to give this one a try, so don’t pass it up! You will be a super star in your kitchen. Jump on over to Dessert Now Dinner Later to find this wonderful recipe. Amber will give you wonderful directions on how to create your own Key Lime Poke Cake.
Thank you for sharing part of your Saturday with me. I hope you have been inspired by today’s posts and you have a wonderful week ahead of you.
See you back here next Saturday! Happy St Patrick’s Day!
GORGEOUS! Love that card!
