Framed Out

Today I have a card idea for you that you can make when you are in a pinch and need a quick and fabulous birthday card! The frame around the design adds a nice touch to an otherwise “ok” card, making it stepped-up in design with just a bit of extra “fabulousness”! The “stepped-up” version only takes a few more minutes to create, and the extra detail makes it pop!

Happy Birthday1

First, I cut a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than the gray A2 sized card base. It was then stamped with balloons from the Paper Clippings: Birthday stamp set by Papertrey Ink. The balloon strings were stamped in gray. The sentiment is from the Friendly Flowers stamp set.

Happy Birthday2

Rather than leave the card flat, I decided to create a frame around the design. So after all the stamping was done, I placed the frame die, which is the Embroidered Frames: Dots die, over the finished stamped piece and ran it through my die cutting machine. I adhered the center piece flat to the card front. The frame was popped up with dimensional adhesive. Last, a few sequins finished it off. That was it! Simple and quick!

I hope you enjoyed this idea for a quick card. You can stamp stars across the card for another birthday idea, hearts for a Valentine card… you name it. This idea will work for any occasion.

Have fun stamping!

Danielle
