Saturdays With LeAnn

Hands Of Time

I hope today you are taking some time to relax and enjoy your weekend.  Since it is cold outside, go grab yourself a cup of coffee, tea, or even a good old mug of hot chocolate.  I want you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the inspiration I have to share with you on this beautiful Saturday!

Dream Passionately By Cathy Cafun

How do you come up with your ideas to start layouts?  For me, inspiration usually comes from sifting through photos, which I love to do.  When I stumble across the ones I want to use, I usually come up with some quick ideas for starting a layout.  One of my favorite go-to ideas is using chipboard; its a great way to add some dimension to your layout.  This ultra-sweet layout was created by Cathy Cafun using some Dusty Attic chipboard. Using frames is a great way to draw the eye to your photos.  Other favorite techniques of mine when using chipboard include painting along with adding glitter, stickles, texturizing elements, and so much more.

What a wonderful design Cathy created, and her details are perfect.  Don’t you just love how she tied all the chipboard pieces together using flowers?  Cathy’s combination of pastels are glorious and makes us hopeful that spring is not that far away.  Click here and I will be happy to escort you over to the blog “Cathy Can’t Help Herself” where you will be thrilled with all the inspiration! While you are visiting Cathy’s blog be sure to check out all of the other beautiful layouts she has to share.

Hands Of Time By Brenda Brown

This beautiful masterpiece can be used for a home decor piece or a beautiful card to brighten up someone’s day.  I love the texture that was created using gesso, modeling paste, and your favorite stencil.  You can always create a spectacular background by spritzing with ink sprays, mists, or color wash.  You know me, I am a big fan of creative and different backgrounds.

Hands Of Time

Brenda created this on a 5 X 7 canvas board.  There is nothing more exquisite than a handmade decor piece for your home.  This distinctive canvas is definitely the proof of what one can do when you open up your imagination.  I would like to send out a big thank you to Brenda Brown for sharing this beautiful and unique masterpiece with us.  Let me take you over to Bumblebees And Butterflies where you can find a list of supplies along with the steps of how Brenda created her canvas.  Be sure to stop by her blog anytime you need a burst of inspiration.

Headboard To Chalkboard By Christy James

Chalkboards are a versatile tool that come in so handy at home.  They can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles to fit the needs of multiple users.  Today I have to share with you one of the most unique and fun chalkboards I have ever seen.  I totally fell in love with this and so will you.

Headboard to Chalkboard

Christy found this fun old headboard at a thrift store for only $10.00.  It is amazing how you can find great treasures at the thrift store; and so inexpensive as well.  Who would have ever thought of a headboard turning into a useful chalkboard?  I also love the added hanging hooks to add a little more function.  This is one project I can’t wait to get started on.  I have the perfect spot in my home for it.  I know you are dying to make this as well, so come with me over to Confessions Of A Serial Do-It-Yourselfer where you will get step-by-step instructions by Christy.  You will want to jot down some notes and what supplies you will need.  With a little help from Christy, you will be able to create this adorable chalk board in no time. This will be one fun project to create!

Chocolate Toffee Buttercrunch By Christy Denney

The sweet crunch of this delicious Buttercrunch Toffee pairs chocolate and pecans for a winning combination.  This recipe requires very few ingredients and little effort, but the result is superb, making it appear as if you had slaved over a hot stove all afternoon.

Chocolate Toffee Buttercrunch

I don’t know about you, but just looking at this photo makes my mouth water.  It looks so yummy!  I can’t wait to give this one a try.  What a fun treat to have when family or friends pop over.  Let’s go on over to The Girl Who Ate Everything so you can print out your recipe from Christy Denney.  I bet this will become one of your family’s favorites!

I hope you enjoyed today’s projects and that you have been inspired to begin your weekend crafting.  I’m looking forward to sharing some more fun things with you next Saturday.  Have a wonderful week!
