I have a soft spot in my creative heart for city skylines; maybe it’s growing up in New York, but they always talk to me and this one is no exception. I love all the artsy layers that make up this one-of-a-kind journal page.

Thanks By Jennifer McGuire

One of my favorite techniques to do with distress oxides is a good resist technique. That is where you heat emboss than apply the ink over the top. Any area you have heat embossed will resist the ink and create a beautiful background. As you can see by Jennifer’s cards, the end result is gorgeous. Repurposed Spoon and/or Rod Rack By Shannon

Many of you know I love a good trash-to-treasure project so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share this cute eyeglass holder; isn’t it adorable? In its original condition even I would have thrown it away, it was pretty ugly before Shannon repurposed it into a useful and oh-so-cute eyeglass holder.

I can see all my cheaters (reading glasses) neatly organized instead of all over the house, what’s not to love? One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. I hope this project inspires you to look at things through those creative rose-colored glasses to find the beauty in something most people would disregard.
