This heartfelt project designed by Patter Cross has truly inspired me to start paying a bit more attention to the many blessing in my life. We’re all passionate about scrapbooking our journey through life, so why not include those positive thoughts and prayers as well?

I hope you’ve been inspired by Patter’s enthusiasm, which is to create one card for each day of the new year.  But not to worry if you don’t hit the mark of  365 cards – there are no rules, just have fun with your art and enjoy jotting down those little things that make you smile. 😉 I highly recommend stopping by Patter’s blog Triple The Scraps – she has some great tips and techniques to share. Chicken Lo Mein by

Many of you know that Chinese food is my absolute favorite. I seriously could eat it 7 days a week. Growing up In New York we were a bit spoiled because all you have to do is pick up the phone and they will deliver it to your front door – but not so much in sunny California. Well, not to worry, with a little help from our friend Joanna you can make your own amazing Lo Mein without ever leaving the house.

This chicken lo mein recipe is surprisingly easy to make at home, and it actually tastes a lot better than what you can get at most takeout restaurants. Another bonus about Lo Mein is that you can easily customize the recipe to include your family favorites, you can even go meatless if you prefer. Click here and I’ll take you over to Jo Cooks blog so you can print out the recipe. While you’re visiting be sure to check out Jo’s book “30-minute one pot meals cookbook”.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Time for Love Scrapbook Page by Wendy Price

Do you combine your stamping skills with your scrapbooking?  Check out the beautiful background that Wendy created using several must-have stamps sets from Stampendous. I have to laugh, when my scrapbooking addiction first began over 15 years ago things were very divided. You were either a stamper or a scrapbooker, if you did both you were a real pioneer. Can you imagine such a world? It makes me smile knowing that whether you’re a mixed media queen, scrapbooker, stamper, cardmaker or you just like to play with paper, we are all one big happy and creative family.

I hope that you’ve been inspired to break out your favorite stamp sets and have fun creating your own unique backgrounds. If by chance you fell in love with the stamps that Wendy used on her beautiful layout, you can click here and I will be happy to take you over to the Stampendous Blog.

Organize your Kitchen With Paint Pens by Elsie Larson

Do you believe in New Year’s resolutions? I must confess, I’m not the most organized person. Try as I might, I never quite get there. So every year I give it the old college try and attempt to organize my house, or at least my craft room and the kitchen. I have a thing for glass jars in my craft room, as they’re perfect to store my many embellishments. When I saw this post  A Beautiful Mess hosted by Elsie & Emma I knew I had to share the inspiration. You’re just a paint pen and some jars away from beautiful yet functional organization.

Organize your kitchen

I collect mason jars so I will be using those, but you can use whatever jars you have access to. A big thank you to Elsie & Emma for showing us that being organized doesn’t have to be painful. Don’t you love it when something so simple and affordable can be so cute?

One Pan Cajun Chicken Dinner

Even with Christmas behind us, we’re still busy preparing for New Year’s. No worries, I have your back! I discovered this delicious dinner on the Cooking Classy Blog and knew I had to share the love. Did I mention that the entire meal is made in one pan? Not only does this dish taste delicious, but it takes minimal clean up. “Ya gotta love it!”

One Pan Cajun Chicken Dinner

This recipe is perfect for those busy weeknights when you still want a homemade meal but you don’t have the time or energy to put in a lot of effort. Click here and I will be honored to take you over so you can follow along with Jaclyn as she shares the recipe as well as some great cooking tips. One thing that I would like to share is that this dish can be a little spicy, but not to worry, you can easily adjust the seasoning to your family’s liking by adding or deleting the cajun seasoning. Bon appetit!

Thanks for stopping by! I know how busy you are and I’m so happy that you’ve found some inspiration in today’s post. Happy New Year, my creative friends! I look forward to seeing you next Sunday.

Free Falling

Would you believe the background was created by rubbing Pumice Stone Distress Ink through a chevron stencil onto the wood grain star patterned paper?  Never throw those fun tags away from your new clothing; you will be surprised what you can do with them on a layout.  Jinny used her up-cycled clothing tag laced with Baker’s Twine and tucked it under the right side of the photo. Together Family created by Minna Paajanen

This gorgeous design was created by the very talented lady Minna Paajanen. I just love the gorgeous Pion Papers made in Sweden. They are so unique and are of a timeless design with a romantic and vintage feel.

Minna used the beautiful blue-toned papers and tags from the “My Beloved Son” collection. Using three-dimensional floral embellishments really pops out her photo. This is definitely one of those simply elegant layouts. Click here and I will take you over to Pion Designs. You will find fabulous projects and have a chance to discover their gorgeous paper lines.  You’re sure to be inspired to start creating your next beautiful project.

Thanks created by Donna Mikasa

You don’t have to be a professional painter to create watercolor masterpieces! I have recently taken the plunge to using water with my markers and I love how it can make coloring so much fun, while being such a breeze. Don’t be afraid to pull out your distress markers and distress inks, and if you have watercolor pencils they are wonderful, too.

This embossed imaged was colored by Donna Mikasa. She used some distress markers and water for her coloring. The sentiment was a die cut from gold foil cardstock and attached to a vellum band. Adding a few gold sequins finished off the card nicely. If you prefer some shine to your card, just add a Wink Of Stella pen. Now for your challenge; if you haven’t already been watercoloring, take the plunge and dive in! You will be amazed at your own talent with watercoloring.

Hello my artsy friends, I’m happy to see that you’ve found some quality time to relax and get those creative juices flowing, I have some really cute projects to share today so sit back and enjoy. I just returned home from a wonderful Scrapbook Expo in Milwaukee and boy, are those ladies on fire. A great time was had by all! I’m hoping to see many of you at our Chicago show in August.

Full Of Wonder by Karan Gerber

I discovered this adorable layout on Karan’s blog My Heart On Paper. What first caught my eye was all the yummy texture and layers going on. Karan really broke out all the stops. Do you stamp on your scrapbook pages? It really is a great way to create some very unique backgrounds as Karan shares here.

 Full Of Wonder Layout

I hope you’ve been inspired to add a little stamping on your next layout, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the magic you can create.

Happy Mothers Day designed by Debby Yates

I seem to be on a texture kick these days 😉 . I love how Debby used embossing paste to create the subtle texture in the background. Such a delicate design; wouldn’t this be the perfect card to honor Mom on her special day?

Happy Mother's Day

Debby truly is a paper artist; you owe it to yourself to stop by and spend a bit of time on her blog A Scrapjourney; you’ll be glad you did. I hope this beautifully ornate card has inspired you to add a little texture to your next project.

A Wonderful Day designed by Debbie Olson

At first glace doesn’t the card base look like a soft suede? I’m loving this sweet little lavender sachet image by Power Poppy Stamps; it’s so versatile it can be used for anything. I think this is one of those “need to have it” stamp sets. 😉  It has 12 clear stamps, including a market bucket filled to overflowing, a trio of freshly-snipped stems, and the sachet with a scalloped tag that coordinates with three teeny sentiments. There’s also a petite cluster of flowers and buds that make a lovely background or accent.

A Wonderful Day

Did I mention that this must have stamp set is a mere $18 on the Power Poppy site? While you’re on a roll, you might want to check out Spellbinders Marvelous Squares. These intricately detailed nesting die templates are perfect as single elements or can be combined and layered for endless creativity. Happy stamping, my friends!

DIY Luminaries!

The sky’s the limit when it comes to creating these beautiful luminaries. They’re fast, easy, and you already have most of the supplies: some scraps of your favorite papers, dies, some strips of vellum, and embellishments. Don’t you love it when you can take a stroll into your craft room and come out with a cute and functional home décor piece?

DIY Luminaries

You can have the romantic look of a candle without worrying about the danger of an open flame. You can find these battery operated tea candles at your local dollar stores. How cute would a small grouping of these sweet luminaries be as a centerpiece for Mom’s special Mother’s Day dinner? Then Mom can take them home; she’d love that. They would be perfect to use as a unique party decoration/party favor or just to add a little ambiance to a room.

Have fun designing your own luminaries; the possibilities are endless!

Vegetable Lo Mein

“Busy” is a word we all understand and often dread. Between work and family, it feels as if our time and attention are completely consumed. The beauty of this oh-so-versatile dish is that you can adapt it to your and your family’s taste and you can use any of the local vegetables that are in season. You can either go total vegetarian or add whatever meat, chicken, or fish that you have on hand.

Vegetable Lo Mein

Fast. easy, healthy, and delicious – what more can we ask? This recipe is sure to be one that you will be making time and time again. Click here and I will take you over to The Woks Of Life where you can print out the recipe. Bon Appetite!
