Sundays With Lorraine

Welcome back to Weekly Scrapper! It makes me smile knowing that you’ve found some time to get crafty; after all, creating art is very therapeutic, a proven stress reliever. The secret to success is to have fun with your art, so don’t hold back, you will never know what you’re truly capable of unless you explore.

Mixed Media Layout By Missy Whidden

Missy truly has a gift for putting together perfect scrapbook layouts and this little beauty is no exception. Would you believe that this adorable layout started out as a plain piece of white cardstock? The inky background was created using plastic package and some Shimmerz Inklingz and Creameez Paints.  You add some paint to plastic packaging, flip the packaging over onto your background paper, and smush it around. I love the artsy look and how you can customize the background to coordinate with your papers and embellishments. What a perfect background for those great black & white photos!

There is so much more than first meets the eye on this layout. I highly recommend stopping by the Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog so can follow along as Missy shares step-by-step instructions on how the layout was created. You will definitely pick up a few tips and techniques to use on your next page. Happy scrapping, my friends!

Live In The Now By Jane Tyrrell

What a gorgeous background Jane created using the new Distress Oxides on black cardstock. There’s one thing that Distress Oxide Inks can do that the Distress Inks can’t, which is to stamp on darker colored paper. Since they are a dye-pigment fusion, the stamped or inked areas really show up better. And check out the soft chalky look that they bring to your project. They’re a real game changer.

This card has such lovely details it almost tells a story. Big hugs to Jane for showing us how it’s done. It’s time to break out those new Distress Oxides you’ve been itching to play with and while you are gathering your tools, don’t forget the heat gun, embossing powders, and your trusty Big Shot. I hope you’ve been inspired to send one of your handmade cards to someone special today!

Summer is finally here, so why not take advantage of the plethora of summer veggies that are in abundance at local produce stands. This is like an Italian spin on salmon in foil and you are totally going to love it; even your pickiest eaters will be asking for seconds!

With a little help from Jaclyn the Queen of Cooking Classy you, too, can have a healthy weeknight dinner in no time and as if it needs to get any better – clean up is a breeze since you basically cooked it in one baking dish. What’s not to love?!  Click here and I will lead the way over to the Cooking Classy Blog so you can print out the recipe. Bon appetit!

Thanks for a great visit! I look forward to seeing you back soon and I hope you have an amazing week ahead of you. Hugs to all!
