Hello Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here to share layout and a card I made using products in our Latest & Greatest workshops. We’re well into our 2018 season with our second show of the season starting next week in Irving, Texas. We’ll have four Latest & Greatest workshops (Card Making, Cool Tools, Scrapbooking, and Stamping.). Today, I’m sharing a layout and a card that I created with the Paper Crane collection from Photoplay Paper and the Trim and Score Board from We R Memory Keepers. Let’s look at the layout first.
Latest & Greatest Cool Tools and Latest & Greatest Scrapbooking
The Paper Crane collection is full of beautiful asian inspired collection full of beautiful colors and patterns. This collection is perfect for documenting a trip to the Japanese grill in our area to celebrate my nephew’s birthday. I LOVE the bold floral patterned paper but when I added my photo on the bold floral pattern it got lost. To make sure that my photo stood out against the bold background, I added a large strip of a smaller tone on tone patterned paper in the middle of the layout.
The title of the layout is simple with two words cut from a patterned paper from the Paper Crane collection and navy cardstock. I love combining bold blocky fonts with a thiner script font. It makes the title stand out and catch the reader’s eye. When I finished creating the layout, I created a quick card with the scraps that were left on my desk. This is a cute card that has two folds in it creating an accordion fold. The card measures 4″ x 12″. (If you love this card, you’ll love this one too.) I scored the card at the 4″ mark and the 8″ mark. It’s so easy! I love that I could cut the cardstock AND score it with the same tool. The We R Memory Keepers Trim and Score board is one of my new favorite tools because it has two uses. Space is a hot commodity in my craft room so if I can find a tool that has more than one use, I’m a happy girl!
I used a few inspirational quotes/sentiments from the Paper Crane collection to make this card full of encouragement to the recipient. These two projects came together in no time at all with fun brand new products/tools to play with.
This Latest & Greatest: Scrapbooking workshop featuring the Paper Crane collection and the Trim and Score Board will also be taught at our upcoming shows in Pomona, Orlando, Milwaukee, and Puyallup. We would love to see you there!
