I Cropped

Hello and welcome back, crafty peeps!  Now that show season has started, I wanted to thank you all for being so warm and welcoming to me and my amazing team in the Crop!  We have so much fun with you all!!

This month I want to introduce you to one of our amazing croppers.  This is Alice Baccus, and if you’ve ever visited any of the Southern California or Northern California shows, then I’m sure you’ve seen her at her table hard at work, or on the showroom floor getting some great shopping in!

This past week in Pleasanton I got to spend some time speaking to Alice and she is truly a remarkable woman.  She started attending the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo with a friend in 2011 and since then has been a hardcore scrapbooker.  Her layouts are truly amazing and she’s even had her work featured on at least 23 product covers for Lea France.  Check out the one below… I’m MADLY in love with this layout!

She was so hard at work in Pleasanton that she actually was able to finish six pages!!  Can you believe that?!?  I’ve barely been able to finish one card in a weekend!!  LOL!  Here’s one of the layouts she was working on.

Isn’t it just stunning?  It’s amazing to watch her work.  I tried not to lurk over her shoulder the whole weekend, but I just couldn’t help it… I was SO fascinated.  Needless to say, Alice has gotten me back into scrapbooking! I had stopped when I found cardmaking but after seeing what she can do, I’m so hooked!!

If you look really closely at the picture in the middle of the layout above you’ll see an awesome pic of Dave Gordon and Betty during their time as crop hosts!

I really hope you enjoyed hearing a bit about an amazing cropper and seeing her gorgeous work!  And I hope that her work inspires you like it has me!  If you ever see Alice in the crop make sure you stop and say hello, you’ll be glad you did.

See you in the crop!!!

You get the most out of the crops if you really participate, dress up and play the part I can’t believe that I won first place last year in Milwaukee. It was the first time I cropped and the first time I won a prize and believe it or not, I am over 70 years old. See you in Milwaukee.

I’m a hardcore card maker but I can so appreciate the work that goes into scrapbook layouts. Those layouts Alice was making are just stunning. Looking forward to seeing the group in August in New Jersey!!! Can’t wait!!!
